A special .meeting of the Southold..Town Board was-.held at the Supervisor' s Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, .N.Y.. The meeting was called to ': order by the Supervisor at 1: 30 P.M. with the following present: : Super- visor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine;- Justices -Tuthill and Clark.; Town Attorney Tasker_ .and-Town Clerk :Richmond. Moved by Justice.:Clark; ."seconded by Councilman Valentirn WHEREAS, Southold .American -Legion .G.T.G. Post #803, Southold, N.Y. applied to .the Town Clerk fora Bingo License .Amendment,. and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application, and after, 'invest igation duly made findings .and-determinations as required by law, ' , NOW,- THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED.- That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized, and directed to execute -on-behalf of the Board the find- ings and':determinations required .by law and it is - further RESOLVED: That .the Town Clerk be and .he -hereby". is directed' to ..issue an amended :Bingo License 'to the Southold American-' Legion G.T.G. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by' Justice 'Clark; WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of this Board adopted on the 8th- day , of December, 1964,: the..Board .of .Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District.. advertised for sealed bids for the operation"-of the -' motor vessel,. Mystic..Isle, for -a term of three (3) years, commencing on January 1, 1965, which bids were to .be submitted to said Commission- ers not later than 1:45 . P —M...on. December: 29,. 1964, and WHEREAS, there were submitted to .the Board: of Commissioners two -bids, to wit, a .bid of A1den'.DeWolf.':at a price of $6, 595.00 per month for -the operation of. .the- Mystic Isle-, -.and the bid of Alfred Bicknell at 'a price of $7,425.00 per month for-. the operation"of said vessel, which said- bids have been submitted.-to this..Board, and: WHEREAS, the said Alden DeWolf has stated to the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners:;of .the Fishers. Island Ferry District that if the cont- ract is awarded to-him, -.he does not propose .to '-devote his= entire time to the performance of this agreement, and further, the said Alden DeWolf, after �clo.ser -,examination of the proposed contract,. stated that 'there--' were several obligations to be .performed_'by- him which he had.-neglected - to take into consideration in submitting said bid, and therfore wishe-s his bid price to be increased in the amount .of $500.00, and WHEREAS, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Is- land Ferry District advised .the said Alden DeWolf that his bid could not.. be altered, and also. that the Commissioners do not wish to permit the successful bidder to engage in other. employment, and the said Alden DeWolf thereupon stated to said Chairman and Wilfred Sinclair, the manager of said District, that he wished to withdraw said bid, and WHEREAS, this Board, in view of the foregoing, deems it in the best interest that the contract for . the operation of the Mystic Isle . for a term of three (3) years, commencing on January 1, 1965, be awarded to Alfred Bicknell for the sum of $7,425.00 per month during the term there- of, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED: That the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District be and they hereby are authorized and directed to accept the bid of Alfred Bicknell for the sum of $7,425.00 per month for the term of three (3) years, commencing on January 1, 1965, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District be and they hereby are authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the said Alfred Bicknell in accordance with the bid submitted by the said Alfred Bicknell, and in accordance with all of the terms and. conditions set forth in the . notice to bidders and the terms of the proposed form,of contract heretofore approved by this Board. Surety Company in -the name of Lester M. Albertson .as .Custodian of Fishers Island' Ferry District, in the- sum of $5, 000,00 be and the same is hereby . . approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. - Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED:'- That .Bond No. 73S-692. BC, issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of A. John Gada, ' Town Constable. - Fishers Island, New York, - Town of Southold, in the sum of $4000.00 be and the same is hereby approved :as to its form, manner of execution and suffici- ency of sureties therein.= Vote of Town- Board: "yes-Supervisor* Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Councilman- Demarest; RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73S 689 BC, issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the -name of Elizabeth McCloskey, Commissioner Treasurer of the Fishers--Island Garbage and Refuse Distr-ict in the sum of $20, 000.00 be and the same is approved as to its form, amanner--of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. No. 73S 688 BC, issued by the Aetna Casualty and. Surety Company in the name of Raymond Doyen, Fishers- Island, N.Y. Town of Southold, as Commissioner-Secretary of the Fishers Island; Garbage and Refuse District in the sum of $1000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner .of execution and sufficiency of sureties -therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73S-687 BC, issued by. the- Aetna Casualty and . Surety Company in the name of James B. Pickett, Commissioner of Fishers Island Garbage & Reg'use District, in the sum of $1000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and suffic- iency of sureties therein. Southold, in the sum of $4000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and suff- iciency of sureties therein. Public. Account- ants, of 774 Broad Stmeet, Waterford, Conn. , to. perform auditory, and. _ accounting service for said District effective as of..January_:1, ,1965 at the annual fee of $1100.00 to be paid quarterly,. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That .the. Southold . Town :Board approves said contract. RESOLVED: That Walter Griffin, ire. be engaged under contract to pro= vide a mail- transfer and haulage for the Fishers Island Ferry District for a period from January 1, 1965 through .December.t.31,. 1965 inclusive, in accordance with .the terms :and conditions of the contract submitted by the Board of Commissioners, and be it. .further RESOLVED: That the effective date of such service shall be January 1, 1965 and the.' amount of. ..compensation for such service shall be $115.00 per month., payable monthly. _ Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest . and Valentine;::Justices.
