The Southold Town Board met at the . off ice of. Supervisor Lester M.
Albertson, 16 South, .Street, Greenport, N.Y. on December 2,2, 1964.
The meeting was called to order. at 3: 00 P.M.,- with the following..
present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine;
Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney
Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by.-Justice Clark; seconded -by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That the minutes. of .December. 8, 1964 be and they .are duly
approved. Vote of _Town Boardr Ayes- _ Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen
Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That .the Organization and regular meeting of the Town Board
will be. held at the .off�ice of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson,
16 South St., Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, ,January 5, 1965 at 3: 00 P.M.,

WHEREAS, section 164 of the Social. Welfare. Law authorizes the legislative
body of a county, city or town responsible for providing home relief
and aid to dependent -children to determine and direct that employable
persons in receipt of home _relief and employable parents receiving aid
to dependent children be assigned ,to perform work for such county,....
city or ,town as. such.persons are able to perform exclusive of any work
ordinarily performed. by regular employees of such county, city or town
or, by craft or -trade in private employment; . and
WHEREAS, . it appears to, this board to be in the best interests of the
Town of Southold and of employable persons- receiving home relief 'and.
employable parents receiving aid to dependent children therefrom that
such persons be., assigned to perform such work for such town, its de
partments;, bureaus, divisions. and other units thereof, as they;. arse,
able 'to perform and which is not prohibited by such section 164, of the
Social Welfare, Law, it is
RESOLVED: That pursuant to Section 164 of the Social Welfare Law,. the
Town-Boa_rd, does hereby determine and direct that employable .persons in
receipt of homShRg}ief and employable 'parents. receiv1hgg aid.,,t - depen-
dent children/be assigned to perform work for the Town .of Southold,, the
head of any of its departments, bureaus, divisions or other units 'there-
of whenever request is made that such persons be assigned to such unit,
such request. to be addressed to the public welfare official of this
Town,I.. and the number of persons to be used . and the character of the
work to be performed indicated: and it is further ,
RESOLVED_: That the public welfare official of. the town, upon receipt
of such a request shall thereupon assign such persons in receipt of
home relief and parents receiving aid to dependent children who, in
his judgment, are able to perform the work indicated, provided he. is
satisfied. that such persons will not be used to-,replace,-or to perform
any work_,ordinarily performed by .regular employees. of any department
or. other unit of this town, or to replace, or to perform any work
which would ordinarily be performed .by craft, or., trade in private em-
ployment; and it is further
RESOLVED: That persons shall be: assigned to perform only such ,work as
they are able, in the judgment of the public welfare official to per-
form, and it is further
RESOLVED: , That the number of days of work to be..given each person
shall be determined by,the. amount of the budget .deficit of the _recip-.
ient and his ,family computed .on local-',home relief budget schedules, .
and that. no person shall be required to work for more than the number_
of -days necessary to earn such amount..at an hourly rate ,which; shall
not,,be less.than that paid for like work, and no person shall',be
required to work. more-'-than eight hours in-.a day or more than forty
hours in a: week, and it is further
RESOLVED;, That_.any person who refuses. to report..for or to perform .
work. to .which he has been assigned by the public welfare official shall
become ineligible for home relief or aid .to :dependent children, as
the case may be_p and it is further

RESOLVED: That this resolution shall take effect immediately.

WHEREAS, Adelaide Strickland has applied to the -Town - Board for a -single
trailer renewal permit dated December 21, 1964,
NOW, THEREFORE, -BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Adelaide Strick-
land to locate a single trailer on property of Peter Strickland, Sr. ,
be and the same is hereby-!,,granted for a. six month period from Dec.22, 1964.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest-
and Valera ine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved -by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
WHEREAS; Frank Kull has applied' to the Town Board for a single trailer
renewal permit dated Dec. 14, --1.964,
NOW, - THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED-: That the application of Frank Kull to
locate a single trailer on his property at Indian Neck, Peconic, N.Y.,
be and hereby is granted for a six month period from Dec. 22, 1964.

and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

WHEREAS, -John J. Klein, Sr. ,has applied 'to'-the Town Board for a single
trailer renewal permit dated- Dec. 12, 1964,
NOW, THEREFORE;- BE IT RESOLVED: :That the application of John J. Klein-;
Sr. ; to locate a single trailer on 'his property Main Rd. , Mattituck, -
N.Y. be and -hereby is granted for a six month period dated Dec:= 22., 1964.
Vote of Town Board: - Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Bca.rd accept- a bond of $4500.;0 as
recommended by-the Southold Planning Board for the' completion of roads
in .the subdivision TOWN HARBOR TERRACES owned by-the Thoma's F. Daley
Estates, Southold, N.Y.
Vote of -Town Board: Ayes-supervisor- Albertsoh; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board accept a bond of $5000.00 as
recommended by the Southold Planning Board for the completion of roads
in the subdivision to be known as BLUE HORIZONS, Pe conic, N.Y. owned
and developed by C.P.F. Land Corporation.

RESOLVED: That -the Southold Town Board accept a bond of $301000:00-
as-recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board for completion of-

New York, owned and developed by Frank Zaleski.

WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after -
invest-igation duly made findings and determinations .as required by law,
NOW, .:THEREFORE, BE IT. .RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be- and he hereby
is authorized and directed to,execute. on-behalf of the Board the find-
ings and determinations required by law, and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue- an
amended Bingo License to' .theJBurton Potter Post #185,. Greenport, N.Y.
