Tuesday., October 13, 1964 at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Council- man Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Supt. of Highways Price and Town Clerk Richmond, Absent: Councilman Valentine and Justice E. Perry Edwards. Moved, by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; _ RESOLVED: That the minutes of September 29th, 1964 be and they hereby are duly. approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilman Demarest Justices- Tuthill and Clark. Moved. by_ Justice Clark; , seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the regular .monthly meeting. of the Town Board will be held_.at the Supervisor' s Office, 16. South. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5, 199.50; Lighting District Bills in the amount of $3, 125.18; Fishers Island Ferry;. District Bills in the amount of $13, 050.25; Highway bills in the amount of $13, 048.69 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilman Demarest and Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby' is authorized and directed to advertise for bids for proposals to furnish twelve '(12) reefers for members -of the Police Department, Town of Southold, New York. Moved by' Justice Clark; seconded by' Justice Tuthall: WHEREAS, Mrs. Florence Kramer has for the past three years served -' the Town of Southold as. the Town Historian, RESOLVED: That the Town Board does hereby recognize the excellent and faithful service rendered by Florence Kramer to the Town of Southold during her years as Town Historian, -and be it further RESOLVED: That in recognition. of her services to the Town of Southold as Town Historian, the Town -Board- present Mrs. Florence Kramer with a copy of this resolution as an expression of it' s sincere appreciation of her faithful services to the Town of Southold, effective as of .October 3.1, 1964 Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilman Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the Town alerk of the Town ,of Southold be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company- to install one (1) 100 cpoh street light on Pole #7, Aquaview Drive, East Marion, N.Y. as of survey of LILCO 10/1/64. Vote of Town Boards Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilman Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. The application of Mr. Arthur Davis, 1 Amhurst Drive, Hastings-on- Hudson, N.Y.--for a Department. of ,the Army permit to construct a jetty in Gardiners Bay, at East Marion, N.Y. was studied and this Town Board has no objection to the request. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, this Board heretofore advertised for bids for the purchase of police cars for the Town of Southold the specifications for which provided that delivery of such automobiles should be made on Nov. 15, 1964, and WHEREAS, thereafter the Town-Board received bids from O"Keefe Chev- roletoldsmobile•, Inc, Greenport Auto Sales, Inc and .Mullen Auto- Sales, and WHEREAS, the bid of O'Keefe• Chevrolet-Oldsmobile, Inc. was the'- lowest bid but said bid provided that the delivery date of said automobiles would not be guaranteed by said bidder, and WHEREAS, the next lowest bidder was. Greenport Auto Sales, Inc. which bid was in all. respects in conformity- to the specifications, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the bid of O'Keefe Chevrolet- Oldsmobile Inc, be rejected .for the reason that the same .is not in conformity with the specifications, and it is further RESOLVED: That the bid of Greenport Auto Sales, Inc be and the same hereby is accepted and the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Greenport Au_t'o Sales, Inc. for the purchase of six new 1965 police cars at a total net cost of $9, 782.00 in .`conformity with the specifications therefor ..
