Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, July 14, 1964 at 3: 30, P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of .Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved. by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the regular meeting of the Town Board will be. held. at- . .the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, on Tuesday, July 28, 1964, at 3:00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest.; seconded by- Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, a petition was received from Bernard Kaplan requesting a change of zone of certain property in East Marion, New York, described in. said petition from "A" Residential and .Agricultural District to "M" Multiple- Residence District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application. to the Planning Board in accordance with .Section 901, Subdivision C of Article IX of the Buildinq .Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine WHEREAS, the resolution passed by this Board on March 16, 1964 pertain- ing to Proposed Local Law No. 2 Year 1964, a local law relating to the establishment of a Police Department for the Town of Southold, contained certain portions which were found to be illegal after written, and WHEREAS, a hearing was held on March 23, 1964 on the Proposed Local Law No. 2, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the resolution on the Proposed ., _ Local Law No. 2 passed on March 10, 1964 is hereby rescinded. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest. and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, a petition -was received from Vina Baker and George M. VanBuren requesting a change of zone of certain property in Mattituck, New York, described in said petition from "A" Residential and Agricultural Dist-. rict to "B" Business District NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article IX oftn the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, Southold Town Planning Board prepared an official report and recommendation upon the petition of Robert L. Davids, Peconic, N.Y. for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District on certain property in Peconic, N.Y. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor' s Office, 16 South Street, Green- port, New York, on August 11, 1964 at 7:30 P.M. on the above- mentioned petition and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause a notice of said hearing to be published in the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman pursuant to the requirements of. law. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest : and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and- Clark. 34-3 Moved .by. Paul and Lois Wilson fora change Of zone from "A". Residential. and Agricultur'al' District to "B" Business District on certain property in .Greenport, New. York, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing .will be held .by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on August. 11, 1964, at 7:30 .P.M. on the above ment- ioned petition and that .the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause 'a notice of said -hearing. to be-'published in the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman pursuant to the requirements of law.. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valenitne; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Several people attended the meeting. Mr. T. O'Neil asked if any progress had been made on the bridge in boose Creek channel. The .Supervisor informed. him that, the County. had been notified and that progress was being made. Mr. Stephen Campbell and Mr. Schwarting asked about the. sign ordinance. Mr. Albertson informed them that the had notified the. Town, County, and 'State Highway Departments requesting that signs be removed from the highways. A petition-was received from .'residents of Village Lan,e Orient, N.Y. requesting.the .regulation of speed on the highway. Caution lights were discussed .for .the new highway at Mattituck, .N.Y. A letter. was .received from the Mattituck Chamber of 'Commerce in relation to taking over a road between Krause Road and New Suffolk Avenue. . Adjournment was at 4:45 P.M. , Albert W.
