The Southold Town Board:,met. at the -office of the. Supervisor, Lester M.. .
Albertson, on Tuesday, June 16, 1964. . gYhe meeting was called to order
at 3:00 P.M, with the following..pre sent: .-Supervisor Lester._ Albettson
Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; .Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town
Attorney Tasker; Superintendent. of Highways Price 'and- Town' Clerk-'Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman,Valentine; '
RESOLVED: That the minutes of June 58 1964 be and they hereby are "duly
approved.
Vote of Town .Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson.; Councilmen Dematest
and Valentine; Justices Tuth ll 'and Clark.

RESOLVED: _That the regular-.meeting -of the .Town Board will be held. at'"
the office of the Supervisor, Lester• M. Albertson, 16 South Street,
Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, July 7, . 1964 at 3i00 P.M.

WHEREAS, Southold American Legion G.T.G.' Post #803,- Southold, N.Y.
applied to the Town Clerk for a. Bingo License Amendment, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has. examined the application and after invest-
igation duly made findings and determinations as required. by-'law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he. hereby
is authorized and directed to. execute. on behalf of the Town the find-
ings and determinations. required by law' and it 'is ' further
RESOLVED: That the Town' Clerk be and' he hereby is directed to issue an
amended Bingo License to the Southold American Legion G.T.G. Post #803

WHEREAS, the Town_ Board of the Town of South old has heretofore referred
to the Southold Planning Board for ' its recommendation and report on pro- _
posals to amend the Southold Town Building ordinance by amendments pur-
suant .to the provisions of Article IX of Section 900 'of the B rhding
Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold and proposed amendments being
as follows, to wit:-
1. By amending Article III, Section 300 of said Ordinance by
adding a new subdivision, to, be subdivision 4A, to read as follows:
4A. Stables and riding academies, when author-
ized as a special exception by the Board
of Appeals as hereinafter provided.
II. By amending Article III, Section 300, subdivision 5 of said
Ordinance to read as follows:
5. Clubs, fraternity houses and golf courses,
when authorized as a special exception by
the Board of Appeals as hereinafter provided.

By amending Article IV-, .Section 400,. ._subdivision 5 of said
Ordinance to read as .follows:
5. Offices,_ banks and financial -institutions.
IV. •By. amending Article IV,. . Section .400, subdivision 10 of
said Ordinance. to read .as follows:
:10. Storage houses, express carting or hauling
offices. or stations, ice_ manufacturing, yards
for storage and sale of coal and, building mat-
erials.. ,
V. By amending. Article X of-. said Ordinance .by adding thereto
a _new�::section to be section 1000B, to read as follows:
Section 1000B No dwelling shall hereafter be erected
or -altered in any district unless provision
shall be made therein for not less than eight
hundred and fifty (850) square feet of space
within the .exterior of- the .foundation walls
at ground level exclusive of a garage, carport,
carpark, open porch or terraces, or other ex-
:; tensions outside the body of the house.
Provided, however, that fifty (5%) percent
of the habitable area of the second story may
be used and applied to the area requirements
of the first floor.
Notwithstanding anything hereinabove to the
contrary the area of the second floor shall
be included 'in computing the area of the total
habitable area when the finished floor of the
second story has a clear headroom of not less
than seven and one-half (7h) feet with -knee
walls of not less than five - (5) feet and when.
the second floor is serviced by a permanently
placed stairway.
The provisions .of. this section shall- not apply
to dweiling s located within a tourist camp
as defined- in the Southold Town Ordinance pro-
viding for the regulations of tourist camps,
house trailer camps, house trailers or similar
establishments when a permit .for such tourist
camp has been issued by the .Town' Board pursuant
to the provisions of said ordinance

.. Greenport, N.Y. at 7:30 P.M. .on .Tuesday, .June 30, 1964 on the above
mentioned amendment to the 'Souihold- Town -Building ,Zone `Ordinance.

WHEREAS, Cleaves Point Corporation , East Marion, N.Y. by• petition
verified the 6th day of March, 1964, petitioned the Town Board for
a change of zone of certain real property described -in said petition
from "A" . Residential. and Agricultural District to "B" Business Dist-
rict, and
WHEREAS, the said petition was referred to the Planning Board for
its official recommendation and report, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board, pursuant to due notice athereof, held a
hearing thereof on May 19, 1964, at which time all interested .persons
were given an opportunity to be heard, minutes of which were taken
by Barbara Coarozza,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the relief demanded in. said
petition of Cleaves Point Corporation be and the same is in all
respects denied.

WHEREAS, Matthew Mullen by petition verified, the •lst'day of�-May,
1964, .'petitioned the Town Board for a�.change of zone of certain
real property described -in said petition from "All- Residential and
Agricultural District to "B" Business District, and
WHEREAS, the -said petition- was referred to -the Planning Board for its
official recommendation -and report, -and
WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant to, due. notice thereof held a hearing
thereon on the 5th day of June, 1964--'at which time all interested
personsuare given an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE-SOLVED: That the' ' Southold 'Town Building Zone
Ordinance including.-the Building. Zone Maps, be amended from "A"
Residential and -Agrica ltural� District 'to "B" Business District. on the
following- described -property: -
ALL that certain tract -or parcel of''land situated- at Cutchogue in
the Town- of Southold; Suffolk- County, New York, and more particular-
ly bounded and described as follows':
BEGINNING -at a point 200 feet northerly from the intersection of Cox
Lane and the northerlyt -lirie of Main Road, being the present "B"
District Zone line, running thence--a northeasterly direction- along
the-:present- "B0/ District- zone line, •parallel to the northerly line
of the Main Road about 175 feet to a- point on land of applicant;
thence in -a -northwesterly direction along land of applicant 75 feet
parallel to the easterlyside :of- Cox Lane to a point on land of
applicant; thence in a southwesterly- direction along land of appli-
cant parallel -to northerly line -of'=Main-Road 175 feet to easterly
line of- Cox Lane; thence along the -easterly line of Cox Lane 75 feet
to the -point of beginning..
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: .That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is
authorized and directed -to cause notice of said amendment to be post-
ed and published pursuant to -law.

WHEREAS,-,Mrs,"- Ann Currie=Bell has-been' a life-long resident of the
Town of Southold., and has;• during' all of her life, worked for the
betterment of the Town, ' havirig' been one of the founders of the Southold
Historical- Society;and active in behalf of the Southold• Free Library,
and many other- community projects; and
WHEREAS, the Tbwn Board feels. that iri her death the Tbwn' of `Southold
has lost a steadfast friend,
NOW, - THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: .That the Town Board expresses its
appreciation of Mrs. Currie-Bell'16Aontere.st'-in and service to the
Town, and that when this meeting stands adjourned it .be in honor
