WE, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the 'down of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive .notice of the time, -place and purpose of the- meeting of the Town Board to be held at Greenport,. in the Town of Southold, New York, on Tuesday, August i3, 1963 and do hereby consent that the same be held 'on said date for the transaction of any business which may sproperly come before said meeting. Richmond, Town Clerk- - A special meetin of the Southold Town Board was held at the Supervisor' s Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. -on Tuesday, August 13, . 1963, the members of the Board having waived notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting. The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, at -5:00 P-.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73S-1747 BC, issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of James -Pi Mellas in the sum of -$4000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-yupervisor--Albertson; Councilmen Demarest`' and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the Bond No. 73-S-1746 BC-, issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name-of Edward Stanley Brush in the -sum--of $4000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of Execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved- by Justice Tuthill;, seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;- WHEREAS, George McCarthy has applied to the Town Board for 'a single trailer permit, dated August 2; 1963, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of George McCarthy to locate a single trailer off Rt. 25, Laurel, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for year round occupancy for a one year period. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. 229 Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Frank S. Dawson, of New Suffolk, N.Y. be and he hereby is appointed, subject to the written approval of the District Super- intendent of Schools, Attendance Officer to all schools throughout the Town, except such schools as are otherwise provided for by Section 3213 of the Education Law, and be it further RESOLVED: That such attendance officer shall be removable at the pleasure of the District Superintendent of Schools, and be it further RESOLVED: That the compensation for such attendance officer be fixed at $1200.00 per year payable in regular monthly installments, he to pay his own expenses, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is instructed to notify Frank S. Dawson and the District Superintendent of Schools of the appointment. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-§upervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest - seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is authorized and directed to advertise for bids for proposals to furnish 14 Sack coats, 28 pairs of pants, 14 caps, 28 shirts and 1 Reefer for the Police Force. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor ..Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. afifolinan'Jaine's M'e.l•las appeared before tYiet'Towr -Board at •th'e�4equest of the Town Board, Town of Southold, N.Y. to explain the circum- stances surrounding an accident resulting in damage to a Southold Town Patrol Car on the 24th day of July, 1963 . After reviewing the entire matter, the Town. Board directed the Police Chief (Constable) to assign Patrolman Mellas to foot patrol duty for a-period of two weeks. Albert W. Richmond Town Clerk
