The meeting was called to.. order at 3:00 P -M. with the folldWwiiig present: Supervisor 'Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices -Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of July 9, 1963, be and they hereby are duly approved.. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the regular meeting of the Town Board will be held at the"office' of the Supervisor, Lester -M. Justice Tuthill; WHEREAS, Dahl Oil Co., was the lowest bidder for fuel diesel oil for the Fishers Island Ferry District, and WHEREAS, the Southold Town Board approved the action of, the.. Fishers Island Ferry District' in accepting the lowest bidder, Dahl Oil Co. to furnish diesel oil to the Fishers Island Ferry .District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and. he hereby is authorized and directed .to execute said contract on behalf of the Town Board. WHEREAS,- the Thomas River Dock and Dredge Company of Colchester, Conn. are under contract to .the .Fishers Island Ferry District to make .certain : dock repairs and. to relocate ,a ramp structure of the Fishers Island. _ Ferry District, and WHEREAS, the Thomas River Dock and Dredge Company wish to assign the payments due under this contract .to the Hartford National Bank and Trust Company -of New. London, Conn. , to the._extent ot. the sum of $,13, 580 and WHEREAS, the Board of -commissioners of. the .Fishers Island Ferry;Dis trict has authorized such assignment subject. to_ the approval of the ,Town .... . Board of the Town of Southold this contract to the Hartford National: , Bank and Trust Company in the amount of $13, 580, NOW, -THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED-.,.That the: Southold Town Board approves,. such assignment. Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill: and .Clark.. , Moved by alusice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, the County of Suffolk proposes to dredge certainareas. of Corey Creek in the Town of Southold which dredging will be performed ,by County owned dredcy.ing esuipment .at a nominal cost to the Town of Southold,. and WHEREAS, in order to accomplish said dredging, plans, specifications, agreements and other. documents must be executed on behalf of .the Town of Southold, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; -.that the Supervisor be and he-;hereby . is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town of Southold, all necess- ary plans and specifications, spoil area agreements, assurances to the County of Suffolk, license/and/or dredging permit applications to Fed- eral and State Agencies and -all other documents that may be required to accomplish said dredging work.: Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices. Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, the County of.. Suffolk. owns and operates a dredge and. other . equipment suitable for dredging channels and depositing ,fill on des- ignated areas, and WHEREAS, the Town of Southold. has requested that the said dredge be used in connection with the dredging .of Corey Creek, Town of Southold, as shown on the accompanying maps' and specifications_, and WHEREAS, THE Supervisor of :the :Town. of Southold by resolution duly adopted by the Town Board of the said Town of Southold has been author- ized and directed to sign for .and on behalf of the Town of Southold assurances to the County of Suffolk that the said Town of Southold will perform all acts required to be performed by said Town in 22 connection with the preparation for the dredging operation as aforesaid and obtaining of all necessary easements and rights of way for said dredging operation and use of areas indicated, on the attached map -or spoil areas together with all necessary rights incidental to said dredg- ing operation, NOW; THEREFORE, in consideration of the benefits to the Town of Southold, as aforesaid, the Town of Southold hereby assures the County of Suffolk that it will (a) Furnish, free of cost to' the County of Suffolk, all lands, easements, rights of' way and- spoil disposal areas necessary for the new work and subsequent maintenance when and if required for the dredging operation at Corey Creek all as shown on the attached map, and (b) Hold and save the Count-/of .Suffolk free from any claims or damages resulting from said .improdement or -resulting in any way from the said dredging. operation or the use of equipment at the said Corey Creek, or use of any spoil area or any other affected by said dredging oper- ation. From State Traffic Commission granting the request for a 40 MPH speed limit on Peconic Bay Blvd. ,from Southold Town Line to Bay Ave. Mattituck,' N.Y. from June 15 to Sept. 15 each year, the Town- maintain- ing all signs pertaining to speed on said highway. 2. From Mattituck Fire Department requesting the numbering of houses in the Town- of Southold for more accurate identification in case of emergency. 3. 'From Ebasco Services relative to a master plan for the Town of Southold 4. FrbiwStanley Sledjeski commending the Police for their efficiency.. Robert Seh appeardd before the Town Board and expressed his views in regard to the Board of Assessors and the assessments in the Town of Southold. Adjournment. Albert W. Richmond Town Clerk ti
