WE, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, ,do hereby severally waive notice of the time, place, and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be held at Greenport, in the Town of Southold, New York, on Monday, July 1, 1963,. and do hereby consent that the same be held on said date for the transaction of any business which may properly come be- fore said 'meeting. Richmond, Town Clerk The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on July 1, 1963. The special meeting was called to order at 2: 30 P.M. with the following, present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilman Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved ,by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, CaroleeTaylor has applied. to the Town Board for a single trailer permit by application dated July 1, 1963, . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Carolee Taylor to locate a single trailer on land of Frederick and Carolee Taylor s/s Westphalia Ave. , Mattituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for occupancy for a period of Five (5) months. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Lester M, Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on J ly 9,. 1963, The meeting was. called to order at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark and Edwards; Supt. of Highways Pricey Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVED: That -the minutes of June 18, 1963 and the Special Meeting of July 1, 1963 be and they are hereby duly approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Justice Tuthilll: WHEREAS, Fishers Island Ferry District Commissioners request the approval of hiring Clarence Dixon, LeRoy Carney and Thomas Murphy as extra summer labor to the Fishers Island Fer-yy District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the Fishers Island Ferry District Commissioners in the hiring of Clarence Dixon, LeRoy Carney and Thomas Murphy as extra summer labor to the Fishers Island Ferry District. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl;' Justices Tutuhill, Clark and Edwards. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WBE REAS, A. John Gada, by petition verified the 17th day of December, 1962'. petitioned the Town Board for a change of zone of certain real property described in said petition from "A" Resiedent'Lal and Agricult- ural District to ".B{' Business District, and 218 WHEREAS; the �said petition was referred to the Planning Board for it's official recommendation and report, ,and WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant •to due notice thereof, held a hearing thereof on June 19, 1963; at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to' be heard, minutes of which were recorded by Judith Boken, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the relief demanded in said petition of A. . Moved by• Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, Julius Zebroski has made application to the Town Board for the establishment of an Bpen Development Area pursuant to the provisions of Section-280A of the Town Law, ,and WHEREAS, the Town Board has heretofore referred the matter to -the- Planning Board for its advice and recommendation, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold does hereby establish an Open Development Area over the prop- erty of Julius Zebroski as shown on the map attached to the application, Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen-Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill; Clark and Edwards. Albertson he and he hereby is auth- orized and directed to enter into a new lease with the Southold 'Methodist Chnrch for use of land behind the church for a parking lot for the Town of Southold under the same lease and conditions as. the- previous. lease. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; . seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: - That Supervisor Albertson,--be and he hereby is authorized and directed to' enter into a new lease with the Commissioner of, the Cutchogue Fire-.District for -use of land- across from the 'Fire :House•. on New Suffolk Lane for_a parking lot for -the Town of Southold under the same terms and conditions'as the previous lease. Vote of :Town -board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarestaand Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill 'and Clark. Smith in .the sum of $4,000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after invest- igation duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and.he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Board the findings and determinations required by law, and it is further RESOLVED: That the -Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to issue an Amended-Z.-:Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post #185, Greenport, N.Y. Albertson be 'and hereby is directed to-request the State Commission to install signs "SPEED CHECKED BY RADAR" in a number of places 'in the Town of Southold. Mrs. Charles .Dimon appeared before the Board to request the installation of curbing and gutter on Washington Ave. , Greenport, N.Y. Mr. John Jurzenia and Donald Roach reviewed some of the traffic problems in the Silvermere Development, Greenport, N.Y. - Mr. 'Callahan from Captain Kidd Estates, Mattituck, N.Y. .described the parking conditions in that area. The Board will investigate the situation. A resident from the Crescent Beach Colony, Greenport, N.Y. appeared to protest the reckless conduct of boats and bathers in the. gull Pond Area A delegation was present from the Mill Creek area, Southold, N.Y. in- quiring as to the building plans of a property owner .abutting Route 27. Mayor Arthur Levine of the Village of Greenport requested additional Town help in solving- the problem of garbage and refuse disposal at the. Village of Greenport Dump. 220' A letter was received from the Southold Post Veteranbs of Foreign Wars thanking the Town for the installation of sidewalks... Mrs. Frances Glander, wrote thanking police for their cooperation in curbing speeding .on New Suffolk Ave. , and a letter .was .read from Richard Wilberg commending Patrolman Boken and Sgt. Winters for their efficient work. in preventing an attempted crime. A certificate of approval was received from Suffolk Connty Health Dept. following :their inspections of- our, Town Beaches;. Southold, ;N.Y. A- petition originating in the Mattituck ,Cutchogue .area and .bearing .33 signatures was received requesting the Board .to consider adopting an ,. ordinance to require the planting of a cover , crop at a certain date in -, the fall . This was turned over to the Town Attorney for a legal opinion. Moved by Couneilman.Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwool; RESOLVED: That the . Supt. .of Highways of the Town of Southold be author- ized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible , bidder One (1) new or used International- (or equal) wheel type tractor with front loader. Moved by Councilman Demarest; . .seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Raymond Latham, Dump Attendant, have his salary raised from $1.75 per hour to $2.25 per hour, effective as of July,, l, 1963 . Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Rustice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount o.f. $7, 054.45 Lighting District Bills in the amount of $2, 788.43, and Fishers Island Ferry-District Bills in the amount of $11, 208.13 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
