MEETING OF MAY 28, 1963 .
The Southold-Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M.
Albertson, at Greenport,, N.Y. . on Tue.sday, .May ,28, 1963 at 3: 00 P.M.
with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest .
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark;,- Supt. of Highways .Pricev
Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice .Tuthill;
RESOLVED:.- That the minutes .of May 7, 1963 and the special meeting of
May 21, 1963,be .and the hereby are duly approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the next regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will
beheld at the office of the Supervisor., Lester M. Albertson, 16 South
.St. , Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, June ,ll, 1963,. at 3.: 00 P.M.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request._
the Long Island Lighting Company to install fourteen (14) 100 cp over-
head street lights on Gillette Drive and East -Gillette Drive in Marion
Manor Development as per L.I.L.CO. -.Print -No. 6.22, dated May 22,. 1963, -
all lights being in the East Marion. Light. District.

WHEREAS, Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official. report
and recommendation upon the petition of A. -. John Gada for a change of.. ,
zone from "A" :Residential and Agricultural. District to "B" Business
District on certain property on. Fishers Island; N.Y. ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will,. be held by,
the Southold Town Board at the. Fishers Island Theatre, Fishers Island,
N.Y, on Wednesday, June 19, 1963 .at..7.:00 P.M. on the above mentioned
petition and that the Town Clerk- be . and he hereby is authorized and.
directed to cause a notice of said hearing to be published .in the
Suffolk Times and the New London Day pursuant to the requirements of

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District
request the approval of hiring Edward. Horning at $55.00 per.;-week,,, Richard
Baker, Ernest Meddleton and J.. P/ .Hartsfield. each. at $8.56. per night..to
operate the Fishers Island. Theatre, Fishers Island, N.Y. , and
WHEREAS, E. Perry Edwards, Justice. of the Peace .of Fishers. Island, .;N.Y.*
recommends the hiring of the. ,aforesaid personnel,
NOW., THEREFORE, . BE IT RESOLVED:. That the Town Board approves the action
of the Fishers Island Ferry District Commissioners in hiring Edward .:

WHEREAS, a request was received from residents of Orient for street
lights on Main Road, , Orient, - N.Y: ,
RESOLVED: That the .Town Clerk request the Long Island Lighting:,Company
to make a survey of the area with the advice of Councilman Demarest.

WHEREAS, Fishers Island Ferry .District commissioners request the approval
of hiring; John Appelt. as' inspector of `dock work and ramp relocation pro-
ject, Fishers Island, N.Y.
NOW, - THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the
action of the Fishers Island Ferry District Commissioners in the hiring
of John Appelt as inspector of dock work and ramp relocation.

WHEREAS,--Fishers Island Ferry District Commissioners request ,the approval
of hiring Harry .Guest at $1.75 per hour, and Mildred Dixon at $1.50 per
hour as attendants of Elizabeth Airfield, Fishers Island, N.Y.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the
action of the Fishers Island Ferry- District Commissioners in the hiring
of Harry Guest and Mildred Dixon as attendants of Elizabeth Airfield.

WHEREAS, Cutchogue Fire Department requests permission to use the parking
lot which is under lease to the Town of Oouthold, and is situated across-
the streetffrom, the Cutchogue Fire Department on July 13 and August 24,
1963,
RESOLVED: That the Cutchogue Fire Department be granted the,,usel-of said
parking lot on July 13 and August 14, 1963 .

WHEREAS, Elliott Winter has applied to the Town Board for 'a single trailer
-renewal permit, dated April 10, 1963,
NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Elliott Winter-
to locate a single trailer on the property of Adam V. Doroski, Bay AVe.
Cutchogue, N.Y. be and hereby is extended for year round occupancy for
a one year period.

RESOLVED: That three thousand dollars ($3, 000.00) be transferred from .
Miscellaneous to Fringe Benefits of the Miscellaneous -Fund (Item 4) .

RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, Town of Southold,
be'and he hereby is authorized to attend Conference of Mayor and Officers
on June 19 through 24th 1963, at Lake Placid, New york, .and
BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending
said conference be a legal charge against the Town of Southold.

RESOLVED: That the Supt. of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized
to purchase one (1) 1963 Cub .Cadet Tractor with Rotary mower, from the
Long Island Produce and Fertilizer Company, Inc. Southold, N.Y. ior the
sum of eight hundred ($800.00) Dollars.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he. hereby is directed to request the
Long Island Lighting Company to remove one 100 cp street light and replace
with one MV street light on corner of First and King Street, New Suffolk,
and also to place .one M.V. street light on N.Y.T.-CO. , Pole #2, Cases Lane,
Cutchogue, N.Y. in the Cutchogue Light District.

RESOLVED: That the office of the Building Inspector, Town of Southold, be
closed Saturdays for the summer months beginning the first day. of June, . 1963 .
