The Southold Town Board met at the office. of the Supervisor,: Lester
M. Albertson, at . Greenport, .N.Y. on Tuesday, February 26, . 1963 . The .
meeting ,was .called to., order; at 3:0.0 P.M.. with ,the: follc).aing present: - .
SuPervisw Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices
Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; -.-Supt. of Highways, Price :.and
Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of February 13, 1963 be and the same are
hereby duly approved,,,,
Vote of Town Board: yeas=Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and -Grathwohl; Justifies Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the next regular monthly meeting of the Town Board
will be held at the office- of Supervisor. Lester M. Albertson at 16
South ,Street, Greenport,L,New York, on..Tuesday,. March 12, 1963 at
3:00 P.M. Vote of Town oard: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen,
.. ..Demarest and Grathwohl;- Justices- Tuthill and Clark.
A letter was.,received from Herman E. VonCarp., Mount Vernon, N.Y.:
thanking .Patrolman James.,Mellas-_ for his courtesy in helping him:
change a tire when he was on his way to a funeral.

RESOLVED: - That Supt. of Highways Price be and he hereby is author- . -: ,
ized to contact property, owners on Bay Avenue, Mattituck, New,York,.
for the purchase of land- for a water basin to eliminate water hazards
on the highway.

RESOLVED: That Edward Klein be and he hereby is appointed School
Traffic Officer- to- serve in such capacity at the intersection of Pike
Street and Wickham Avenue, Mattituck, N.Y. at the rate of $7.50 per .:
day for each day worked, effective as of February 27, 1963 .

and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

WHEREAS, Charles -Coutts has for the. past seven years served the Town
of Southold as a school crossing guard, .
RESOLVED, that the Town- Board does hereby recognize the excellent and
faithful service. that Charles Coutts has rendered the Town of Southold
during leis years as School Crossing Guard, and
RESOLVED FURTHER,- that in recognition .of his services- to. the Town of
Southold as .School Crossing Guard, the Town .Boa.rd present Charles .
Coutts with a copy of this resolution as an expression of. it' s sincere
appreciation of his service to the Town of Southold.

and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he haveby is , auth-
orized and directed to advertise for bids for proposals .to furnish
34 pairs of summer pants and 51 shirts for the, Police Force.

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
RESOLVED: That Supervisor. Lester M. Albertson be and,he hereby is
. authorized and directed to advertise for bids for proposals to furnish
to the Town of Southold five (5) new Police Cars and to trade in five
(5) used police cars.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
WHEREAS, Woodhollow Properties, Inc. by petition verified on December
11, 1962, petitioned the Town Board for a change of zone of certain
property described in said petition form "A" Residential and Agricult-
ural District to ".B" Business District, and
WHEREAS, the said petition was referred to the. Planning Board for its
official recommendation and report, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has filed its official repott with the Town
Board, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant bb due notice thereof, held a hearing
on said petition on the 21st day of February, 1963, at which time all
interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the relief demanded in said
petition of Woodhollow Properties, Inc. be and hereby is in all
respects denied.

and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS, the Town Board on its own motion proposed a change;,, of the
Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk county, N.Y.
and
WHEREAS, 'the said petition was referred to the Planning Board for its
official recommendation and report, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant to due notice thereof held a hearing
- on February 21, 1963; at- which time all interested persons .were given
an opportunity to be heard,
BOW, - THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Building Zone Ordinance of
the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, be amended as follows:
to wit
1. That Section 500 of =Article V of the Building Zone Ordinance of
the Town of Southold be amended to read as follows:
Section 500 - On the "C" .Industrial Districts, all 'build-
ings and premises may be used for any use except that the
following uses may be permitted only as a special exception'
by the Board of Appeals, as hereinafter set forth:
Z By amending Article V, Section 500, Subdivision i of. the Building
Zone Ordinance to read as follows:
1. Abattoirs
III. By amending Article V, Section 500,, Subdivision 17 of said
ordinance to read as follows:
17. Garbage, offal or .dead animals, reduction or dumping.,
IV.. By amending Article V, Section 500, Subdivision 34 of said ordinance
to read as follows:
. 34. Stockyards or slaughter houses.

and Grathwohl ) Justices Tuthill and .Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: -That Supt. of Highways Price be authorized to advertise for
bids and purchase from.:; the lowest bidder 700 ft. of .12 ' corrigated pipe
and 35 1211 connectors, 300 ft of 24" corrigated�pipe and 15 24" connectors.
