The week of February 11, 1963 being Boy Scout Week, five Boy Scouts of the Town of Southold acted as officers in the various departments of the Town. Their purpose was to acquire some knowledge of how the Town Government is conducted. The Boys spent the morning in the various offices and at noon they were taken out to lunch after which they attended the Town Board meeting. Supervisor Albertson had them conduct part of the meeting, each one representing a member of the Town Board. The .bogs thanked the Town Board for their day of experience in office and said they had learned a great deal about the government of the Town. The. Boy Scouts included Thomas Dixon of Cutchogue, David Corwin . of Greenport, Daniel Thompson of Southold, Dennis Haeg of Mattituck and Fernando Jiminez of Orient. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson at Greenport, on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1963 . The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Juatides Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That the minutes of January 29, 1963 be and tl-ey hereby are duly approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the next. meeting of the Town Board will be held at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, at 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, February 26, 1963, at 3 ,00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest .and 'Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Miss Zina Chugin appeared before- the Board to complain about then} road being raised by the. Highway Department causing the water to run on her property. Supervisor Albertson said that he and the Highway Superintendent would investigate the situation. Moved by ::::Councilman Demarest-; seconded by Justice Clar7--; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to transfer $2, 652.29 from Item 2 Bridge Fund to Item 3 Highway. A letter was received from the State Traffic Commission denying the re- quest for a, lower speed limit on Boisseau Avenue, Southold, N.Y. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That a Petty Cash Fund be established for the Supervisor for General Town pgurposes in the sum of $100.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; councilmen Demarest and . Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; . seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That a petty cash fund be established for the Supt.of Highways in the amount of $100.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; ouncilmen Demarest. and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That $1, 760.30 be and hereby is transferred from Par-Town (Police Equipment) to Whole Town C. D. Saunders has applied to the Town Bca rd for a single trailer renewal permit dated January 23, 1963, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Franklin Saunders to locate a single trailer on the property of Sophie T. Saunders, Main Road, Laurel, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for. year round occupancy for aQone year period. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That Fred Hulse, Jr. of Greenport, N.Y. be and he hereby is appointed a member of the Southold Town Board of Appeals to fill the unexpired term of Herbert Rosenberg who resigned on January 29, 1963, the term to run until April 19, 1965 . - Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; WHEREAS, Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official report and recommendation upon the petition of Ruth F. Wells for a change of zone from "A"::!Residential and Agricultural District to "M" Multiple Residence District on certain property in Bay View, Southold, N.Y. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor ' s Office, 16 South St. Greenport, N.Y. on Thursday, March 7, 1963 at 7: 30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause a notice of said hearing to be published in the Suffolk Times, pursuant to the requirements of law.
