MEETING OF OtZTOBER 16, 1962.
The Southold Town Board met at the office. of the Supervisor, Lester. M.
Albertson, at Greenport, New York, on Tuesday,, October 16, 1962. , The
meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with , the following present:
Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and .Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill
and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; ;
WHEREAS, the Machinery Fund Repairs Item #3 in the Annual Budget-,for
the current fiscal year exceeds an appropriation of $30, 781..07, and
WHEREAS, of such sum appropriated, $15, 127 .01 remains unexpended to date,
and
WHEREAS, after due allowance for stated claims and fiscal expenditures
chargeable against such appropriation or account, there is an unexpended
balance against such appropriation of $15, 127 .01,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That $6000.00 ,,of said unexpended balance
be and the same is transferred to Snow Removal Account Item #4. and
$4000.00 to Weeds and Brush Account Item #4 and that the amount, hereto-
fore appropriated for said purposes be and the same hereby is increased
in the amount of $6000.00 for Snow Removal and $4000.00 for Weeds-- and
Brush.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will be held
at the Supervisor ' s Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y.. on Tuesday,
October 23, 1962 at 3: 00 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Dmearest_,and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
RESOLVED: That the mbnutes of October 9, 1962- be and they are duly approved.

IN THE MATTER OF THE EXTENSION OF THE CUTCHOGUE LIGHTING
DISTRICT IN THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD,. COUNTY OF SUFFOLK,
STATE OF NEW YORK, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 12A OF THE TOWN' LAW. ,
WHEREAS, a map or plan relating to the proposed extension of the
Cutchggue Lighting. District, prepared by Otto W. VanTuyl & Son, com-
petent engineers and surveyors, duly licensed by the State of New York,
in the manner amd in such detail as has been determined by the Town
Board of Southold. Town, has been duly filed with the Town Clerk of the
Town of Southold, in accordance with the requirements of Article 12A of
the Town Law; and
WHEREAS, an order was duly adopted by the Town. Board of -Southold Town
on September 25th, 1962, reciting the filing bf said map or .plan, the
improvements proposed, 'the boundaries of the proposed district, theses
timated expense thereof, the proposed method of financing, the fact that
the map or plan describing the same are on file in the Town Clerk' s
Office for public inspection, and stating all other matters required
by law to be stated, and specifying October 16th, 1962 at 7:30 P.M. on
that day as the time, and the Village Hall in the Village of Greenport
in said Town as the place where the said Town Board would meet to con-
sider said•;,= map or plan, and to hear all persons interested in the
subject thereof concerning the same and to take such action thereon as
is required or authorized by law; and
WHEREAS, such order was duly published and posted as required by
law, and
WHEREAS, a hearing on said matter was duly held by said Townd�ard
on this 16th day of October, 1962 beginning at 7:30 P.M. of that/at the
Village Hall in the Village of Greenport in said Town, and full discussion
of the matter having been had, and all persons desiring to be heard
having been duly heard,
NOW, upon the evidence given upon such hearing and upon motion of
Councilman Demarest, seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; , it is

RESOLVED AND DETERMINED:_
(a) That the notice of hearing was published and posted as required
by law, and is otherwise sufficient.
(b) That all property and property owners within the proposed district
are benefited thereby.
(c) That all the property and property owners benefited are includ-
ed within the limitsAf the proposed district.
'(d) That it is/the public interest to extend said Cutchogue
Lighting District, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED AND DETERMINED that the extension of the boundaries
of the Cutchogue Lighting District as set:: forth in said map be approved;
and the improvements in said district be installed upon the required
funds being made available and provided for; and such district shall
be known and designated as the Cutchogue Lighting District in the Town
of Southold and shall be bounded and described as follows;
Beginning at the northerly shore of Great Peconic Bay on the extens-
ion southerly of the center line of Linden Avenue, said point being the
southwesterly corner of the existing ,Cutchogue Lighting District; running
thence westerly along said shore line about 2700 feet to the center line
of Hall ' s Creek; thence northwesterly and then northerly along the center
line of Hall ' s Creek to New Suffolk Avenue; thence westerly along New
Suffolk Avenue to the westerly line of land of M. Elak; thence northerly
along the westerly line of land of M. Elak to the Main Road'._ thence west-
erly along the Main Road to the southwesterly line of larid..'of Bagenski
Estate; thence northwesterly then northeasterly then northwesterly then
__northeasterly along land of Begenski Estate to land of George Alec; thence
z `f nortYAasterly along land of George Alec to land of F. Kurkowski; thence
soiathwesterly and then northwesterly along land of F. Kurkowski_ to :the
Long Island Railroad Company; thence northeasterly along the Long Island
Railroad Company to land of E. C. Tuthill; thence northwesterly along the
southwesterly line of land of E.' C. Tuthill. to Middle Road; thence gener-
ally northwesterly along the southwesterly line of C. E. Tuthill Estate
to land of Rutinowski; thence northeasterly then . southeasterly then north-
easterly then northwesterly along land of Rutinoski to Oregon Road;
thence across Oregon Road and then northwesterly. along the line between
land of Wauneckas on the southwest and land of F. Bialecki on the north-
east to Long Island Sound; thence northeasterly along the shore of
Long Island Sound about 10, 000 feet to the northeasterly line of land of
Baxter Properties, Inc. ; thence southeasterly on the line between said
land of Baxter Properties, Inc. and land of Chase and Murphy and then
through lands of V. Bokina to the northerly angle in Bridge Lane; thence
southeasterly along the northeasterly line of Bridge Lane and across
Middle Road to land of Long Island Railroad Company; thence :,.northeaster-
ly along said land of Long Island Railroad Company to the easterly line
of land of Elizabeth Horton; thence southeasterly along the line between
said land of Elizabeth Horton and land of I . Krupski to the Main Road;
thence northeasterly along the 'Main Road to the easterly line of land of
J. Krupski; thence southerly along the line between land of J. Krupski
and land of M. Swiatocha on the west and land of E. Charnews on the east
to Leslie' s Road; thence northeasterly along Leslie ' s Road to land of
Lucas Pontino; thence southerly along the line between lands of .L. Pontino
and AntonKull on the east and lands of C: Kujawski, P. Kujawski, Billard
and Luce and Penny on the west to Little Creek; thence generally southw
easterly and then easterly along thercenter line of Little Creek to
Little Peconic Bay; thence southerly along the easterly shore 6f .Nassau
Point to Great Peconic Bay; thence generally northwesterly along the
southwesterly shore of Nassau Point to Cutchogue Harbor; thence south-
westerly along the shore of Cutchogue Harbor to Great Peconic Bay or
North Race; thence generally westerly along the shore of Great Peconic
Bay or North Race to the point of beginning.
Within the above area is included all of the existing Cutchogue
Lighting District .
Also this District is to include all of Robbins Island.
The boundaries described' -are intended to include all property
within said' boundaries referred to and as shown in the map on file in
the Town Clerk' s Office, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED: that the method of financing said improvements
c6nsist of assessments levied on benefited real property within th@

said district, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution is subject to a permissive referen-
dum as provided in Section 209-E of the Town Law.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
The resolution was thereupon declared duly adopted.

DISTRICT IN THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, SUFFOLK COUNTY, STATE
OF NEW YORK, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 12A OF, THE TOWN LAW. .
WHEREAS a map or plan relating to the proposed extension of the
Peconic Lighting District, prepared by Otto W. VanTuyl & Son, competent
engineers and surveyors, duly licensed by the State of New York, in the
manner and in such detail as has been determined by the Town Board..of
Southold Town, has been duly filed with the Town Clerk of. the Town of
Southold, in accordance with the requirements of Article 12A of the Town
Law; and
WHEREAS, an order was duly adopted by the Town Board of- Southold 'Gown
on September 25th, 1962, reciting the tiling of said map or plan, the
improvements proposed, the boundaries of the proposed district, the es-
timated expense thereof, the proposed method of financing, the fact that
the map or plan describing the same are on file int the Town Clerk' s
Office for public inspection, and stating all other matters required
by law to be stated, and specifying October 16th, 1962 at 7:30 P.M. on
that day as the time and the Village Hall in the Village of_ Greenport
in said Town as the place where amd the said Town Board would meet to
consider said map or plan, and to heat all persons interested in the sub-
ject thereof concerning the same and to take such .action thereon as is
required or authorized by law; and
WHEREAS, such order was duly published and posted as required by
law, and
WHEREAS a hearing on said matter was duly held by said Town Board
on this 16th day of October, 1962 beginning at 7:30 P.M. of that day
at the village Hall in the Village of Greenport in said Town, and full
discussion .of the matter having been had, and all persons desiring .to
be heard having been duly heard,
NOW, upon the evidence given upon such hearing and upon motion of Council-
man Demarest; seconded by Councilman_ Grathwohi,
it is
RESOLVED AND DETERMINED:-
(a) That the notice of baring was published and posted as required
by law, and is otherwise sufficient ,
(b) That all property and property cwners�,within the proposed :dlistr ict
are benefited thereby.
(c) That all the property and property cwners4 benefited- are included
within the limits of the proposed district.
(d) That it is to the public interest to extend said Peconic Light-
ing District, and it is

of the Peconic Lighting District as set forth in said map be approved;
and the improvements in said district be installed upon the required funds
being made available and provided for; and such district shall be known ; "
and designated as the Peconic Lighting District in the Town of Southold
and shall be bounded and described as follows;
Beginning at a point on the Main Road at the southeasterly corner
of land of Elizabeth Horton and the southwesterly corner of land of I .
Krupski; running thence northerly on -the line between said lands to the
northerly line of the Long Island Railroad Company; thence westerly
along said line to the easterly line of Bridge Lane; thence northerly
along said line and then northerly along �saiz�' line ai +rAn nnrthay �`"
the line between lands of V. Bokina/and Baxter Properties, Inc.
on the west and land of Chase and Murphy !on the east to Long Island
Sound; thence easterly along Lon • Is nd Sound about 14, 000 feet to
the easterly line of land formerly of Katherine W. Case, now of Pine
Crest Dunes, Inc .. ; thence southerly along the last described line and
across Sound View Avenue to the easterly line of land of Alex Zebroski;
thence southerly along the last described line to Middle Road; thence
across said Middle Road and then easterly along the southerly line of
Middle Road to the westerly line of Bowery Lane; the nce southeasterly
along the westerly line of Bowery Lane to the northerly line of land of
Long Island Railroad Company; thence westerly along said line to land
of A. Mokus; thence southerly along the line between lands of A. Mokus
and B. Falcon on the west and lands of A. Stelzer and Rotteveel on the
east to said Main Road; thence westerly along the Main Road to the
northeasterly corner of land of Stankewicz; thence southerly along the
line between said land of Stankewicz and land of Gradowski about 2600
feet; thence southwesterly through land of Gradowski to the center
line of Richmond Creek; thence generally southerly and then southeaster-
ly along the center line of Richmond Creek to Indian Neck Bay; thence
southwesterly along Indian Neck Bay about 6800 feet to Little Creek;
thence generally westerly and then northwesterly along the center line
of Little Creek to the southeasterly corner of land of Luce and Penny;
thence northerly along the line between land of Luce and Penny, land
of Billard, land of P . Kujawski and land of C. Kujawski on the west and
land of Anton Kull and land of Lucas Pontino on the east to Leslie ' s
Road; thence westerly along Leslie' s Road to the southwesterly corner
of land of E. Charnews; thence northerly along the line between said land
of E. Charnews and lands of M. Swiatocha and J. Krupski to said Main
Road; thence westerly along said Main Road to the point of beginnigg.
Within the above described area is included all the existing Peconic
_Lighting District .
The boundaries described are intended to include all property with-
in said boundaries referred to and as shown in the map on file in the
Town Clerk' s Office, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED that the method of financing said improvements
consist of assessments levied on benefited real property within said
district, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution is subject to a permissive
referendum as provided in Section 209-E of the Town Law.
Vote of Town board: Ayes- Supervisor Lester M. Albertson; Councilmen
Louis M. Demarest and Corwin C. Grathwohl; Justices Ralph W. Tuthill a
and Henry A. Clark.
The resolution was thereupon declared duly adopted.
