MEETING OF OCTOBER 9, 1962 .
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Lester. :M.. .
Albertson at Greenport, on, Tuesday, October 9, 1962.. The -meeting was
called to order at- 3: 00 P.M. with the following present: . Supervisor
Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and -
Clark; Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and ,To_wn Clerk
Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded,by -Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED:. That 'the minutes of the meetin_q,of September 25j 1962 be
and they hereby are duly approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest .
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and. Clark.

RESOLVED: That the regular meeting of the •Town Board will be held at
the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, .16 South Street,
Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, October 16, 1962 at ,7:30.. P.M.

WHEREAS, a resolution was passed by the Town Board on September 18,
1962 requesting .a 15 MPH limit on Cedar Lane, Goose Bay, Southold, NY,
and
WHEREAS, the State Traffic Commission advised this Board that a 15
MPH limit was contrary to the provisions of' the Vehicle and Traffic
Law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board rescinds the said
resolution of September 18, 1962.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
WHEREAS, the Goose Bay Association requests a lower speed limit on
Cedar Lane-, Goose Bay, Southold, N.Y.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized to communicate with the State Traffic- Commission and
request it to establish a maximum speed limit of- .25 MPH on Cedar Lane,
Goose Bay, Southold, N.Y.

and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
WHEREAS, - a petition was received from the residents and property owners
of Bowery Lane, Southold, for a change of name of said lane to AKERLY
POND LANE, and
WHEREAS, the Board acted upon said petition, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That Bowery Lane shall hereafter be known as AKERLY POND- LANE.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen' Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
WHEREAS, Clement W. Booth and Southold Builders, Inc. have made applic-
ation to- the Town Board dated July 15, 1962 to dedicate certain high-
ways" at Southold,. N.Y.- to be known as JENNINGS ROAD' and BOOTH ROAD,
being more fully described '-in -said petition, together with releases.
executed by the owners thereof, and
WHEREAS, the Highway Supt., has inspected said- highways and has advised
the Town Board that said proposed highways comply in all respects to
the specifications for the dedication of highways- in the Town of
Southold;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That in accordance with Section 171
of the Highway Law of the State of New York, consent be and the same ,
is hereby given to the Supt. of Highways to make an order laying out
the aforesaid Highways to consist of land described -in said applic-
ation,.. and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is author-
ized and- directed to forthwith cause- the dedication and release and
deeds to be recorded in the office of the Clerk of the County of
Suffolk, New York.

WHEREAS, the Burton Potter Post #185 American' Legion has applied to the
Town Clerk of the' Town of Southold for a Bingo License,, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after invest-
igating the matter, duly made findings and determinations as required
by law,
NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:' That the Supervisor be and he =hereby
is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of this Board the find-
ings -and determinations required by law andi it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town �Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a
Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post #185 American Legion.
Vote of Town Board:' Ayes-Supervisor. Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and - Clark.
A petition was received from Business men ofithe Town requesting a
Building Code in the Town of Southold. The Supervisor was requested
to contact State Representatives of Building Code to appear before
the Board and explain the New York State Building Code.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded-by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That General Bills '-in-the amount of $5.,641.70; Lighting
District Bills in the amount of $2,645.70 and Fishers Island Ferry
District Bills in the amount of $11, 311.67 be and the same are hereby
ordered paid.

The meeting of the Southold Town Board reconvened at the Supervisor ' s .
Office, Greenport, N.Y. on October 9, 1962 at .7:30 P.M.
The hearing on the application of Leander Glover et al was- opened by
the Supervisor at 7: 30 P.M.- The minutes of- the. hearing were recorded
by Judith Boken.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That this Town Board- does hereby -prepare and approve as the,
preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning, on,-the,... .
1st day of January, 1963 the itemized statement of estimated revenues
and expenditures hereto attached and made a part .of this resolution., .
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That such preliminary budget shall be filed in the
office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by
any interested person at all reasonable hours, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That 'tihis board meet at 3: 00 o'clock p.m. on the 7th
day of. November, 1962, for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon
such preliminary budget, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of such hearing in
the manner provided in Section 113 of the Town Law, and that such notice
be published in substantially the followins form:-
NOTICE OF HEARING
UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
Notice is hereby .given that the preliminary budget of the Town of Southold
Suffolk County, New York for the fiscal year beginning January 1,, 1963
has been completed and filed in. the office -of the Town Clerk at Southold,
New York, where it is available for inspection by any interested- person
at all reasonable hours.
Further notice is- hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of South-
old will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a public hear-
ing thereon, at the Office of the Supervisor, 16 South Street, Greenport,
New York, in said Town, at 3: 00 o'clock p.m. on the 7th day of November,
1962 and that at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or
against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item
or items therein contained.
AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 113 of the, Town
Law, that the following are proposed yearly salaries of Tawn officers
of this Town to wit:-
