MEETING OF AUGUST 71 1962.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor,' Lester"
M. Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, August ,7, 1962. The
meeting was called to order at 3:00 -P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices
Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and Supt. of .Highways Price
and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest;'
RESOLVED: That the� inutes of the meeting of July 24, 1962 be and they
hereby are duly approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark-:
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That the Town Board- make its official visit to Fishers
Island on Tuesday, ' August 21, 1962. The meeting twill be called to
order at 1:30 P.M. . The Supervisor is hereby authorized to provide
transportation. The boat will leave Sterling Marina in Greenport,
N.Y. at 9:00 A.M.

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS, SoutholdlTown Planning Board has prepared an official report
and recommendation- upon the petition of Edwin H. King, Orient, N.Y.
for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District
to "B" Business District on certain property at Orient, N.Y.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held
by the Southold Town Board at the office of the Supervisor, 16 South
Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, August 26, 1962 at 7:30 P.M. on
the above mentioned petition and that the Town Clerk be and hereby
is authorized and directed to cause a notice of, said hearing to be
published in the Southold Traveler-Mattituck Watchman, pursuant to
the requirements of law.

and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

WHEREAS, Chester -L. Ciaglo has applied to the Town Board for a single
trailer permit dated August, 1962,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Chester L.
Ciaglo to locate a single trailer on family property, Laurel, N.Y.
be an4hereby is granted for year round occupancy for a one year period.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the report of Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, for
the month of July be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file .

and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl;
RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of July -be accepted
by. the Town Board and plaged: on file.

RESOLVED: That the report of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson for the
month of July be accepted by, the Town Board and placed on file.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices
Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the Auxiliary Police Report for the month of July be
accepted. by the Town Board and placed on file.

Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Justice. Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. 735-1753; issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety
Company in the name of Theodore B. Howard in the sum of $4000.00 be and
the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and
sufficiency of sureties therein.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Grathwohl.; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73S-1754, issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety
Company in the name of Harry W. Smith in the sum of $4000.00 be and the
same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and suffic-
iency of sureties therein.

Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the report of Albert---?,W. Richmond, Town Clerk, for the
month of July be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

RESOLVED: That the report of Ralph P. Cox, Dog Warden, for the month of
July be accept@d by the. Town Board and placed onCfile.
Vote of Town Board:' Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; ouncilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Jutices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Justice Clark;
WHEREAS, the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District is in the process of
acquiring certain property for Park purposes, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that Bonds be sold in the amount of $27, 350.00
for acquiring said property, and
WHEREAS, jt is the '.opinion of Sykes, Gallaway and Dikeman Bonding
Attorneys that it would be in the best interest of the people of the
Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District to sell Bonds at private sale, and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor contacted all Banks doing business with the Town
of Southold., and
WHEREAS, a bid of 33f%o was received from Valley National Bank and a bid
of 3 .35 % was received from North Fork Bank & Trust Co. ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson. be
authorized- and directed to inform the North Fork Bank & Trust Co, that
they were the lowest bidder, and
BE.-.,IT. FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be authorized to sell said
Bonds to the North Fork Bink & Trust Co, at the interest rate of 3 .35 /.
Vate of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice. Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That Ralph Rooks, Fishers Island; N.Y. be appointed Special
Bay Constable to police town waterways-at Fishers Island with no com-
pensation from the Town.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That Robert Tasker, Town Attorney, Town of Southold, be and he
hereby is authorized to attend County Officers School Sept. 9, 10, 11
and 12, 1962 and be it further
RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending said school
be a legal charge against the Town.

District .Bills in the amount of $2,652.60: and .Fishers Island .Island
Ferry District Bills in the amount of $12, 044.03 .be and -the same: are
hereby ordered paid.
