Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, July 10, 1962 at 3: 00 P.M.. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt . of Highways Price, Town Attorney Tasker and Deputy Town Clerk Marion Regent . Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of June 26, 1962 be and they are approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest ' RESOLVED: That the next regular monthly meeting of this Town Board will be held at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, July 24, 1962 at 3: 00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; councilmen Demarest and. Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the report of Supervisor Albertson '1=for the month of June be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVED: That the reports of the Southold Town Police and the Bay Con- stables .for the month o(f June be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file . Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the report of the Southold Town Auxiliary Police for the month .of June be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Moved.by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED:- That the report of Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, for the month -of June be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; .Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Mr . Robert Trubenbach appeared before the Town Board to request police patrol on roads leading from Founders Landing when dances are held there on Wednesday and Friday nights during the summer . Supervisor Albertson referred this request to Police Chief Howard. Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of South old approves the action of the- Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in engaging Thomas A. Murphy, of New London, Conn. for position of Porter at the New London Dock for the summer season, effective as of June 20, 1962 and that the compensation be $50.00 per week payable monthly. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilman Remarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Supervisor Albertson reported that- he -was engaging Life Guards for the summer months at East Marion, Gull Pond, McCabes Beach, Horton Lane;- Silver.. mere and New Suffolk. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, the Greenport Fire Department, Greenport, N.Y, applied tothe Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after- investig-' .ating the matter, duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he' hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf' of the Board tie findings and determinations required by law, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a Bingo License to the Greenport Fire Department. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest 'a'hd Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, Burton Potter Post #185 of Greenport, N.Y. applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has%'uexamined the application and after investig-a. - ating the matter_ , duly made findings and 'determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Board the findings and determinations required by law, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post #185 . Vote of Town'Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertsoh,' Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:' RESODVED: That Frank S. Dawson of New Suffolk, N.Y. be and he hereby is appointed, subject to the written approval of the District -Superintendent of Schools, Attendance officer of all schools throughout the Town; except such schools as are otherwise provided for by Section 3213 of the 'Educat- ion Law, and be it further RESOLVED: That such Attendance Officer shall be removable a.t the pleasure of the District Supt. 6f Schools, and be it further RESOLVED: That the compensation for such Attendance Officer be fixed at $1200.00 per year payable in regular monthly installments, he `io pay 'his own expenses, and be it furbher RESOLVED: That ,the Town Clerk be and he hereby is instructed to 'notify Frank S. Dawson and the District Supt. of Schools of this- appointment. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. The Supt. of Highways, Harold Price, reported that he had accepted- as Town Highways by User the following roads in Arshamomoque, Town of 'South old, Suffolk County, N.Y. : Kerwin Boulevard, 'Bayshore Road and Island View`Lane. , all of which have been filed in the Town Clerk' s Office, Southold, N.Y. Mr. Price also reported that the addition`of' 14' on Georges Road, New Suffolk N.Y. had been accepted by` the Town Supt. ai Town Highway, the deed of same having been filed 'in 'the' Town Clerk' s Office, Southold, N.Y. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That Joseph Smith of Greenport, N.Y. be and he hereby is appoint- ed Special Constable of the Town of Southold with no compensation, the appointment to take effect immediately. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconeded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is 'directed to request the L.I. Lighting Co. to remove the 100 cp light from L.I.L. Pole #24' and place a Mercury Vapor light ,on Pole #25 on Sigsbee Road, 'Mattituck, ' in• the,Matt- stuck #2 Lighting District. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen -De'marest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. 97 Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5, 778.55; Lighting District Bills in the amount of $2,436.22 and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $13, 178.80 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Kolyer appeared before the Town Board to verify interpre-- tation .of the Zoning Ordinance. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; IN THE MATTER OF THE EXTENSION OF THE MATTITUBK LIGHTING DISTRICT NO. 1 IN THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, COUNTY OF SUFFOLK, STATE OF NEW YORK, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE. I2A OF THE TOWN LAW. WHEREAS, a map and plans have been prepared, 'in such manner and in such detail as has hereto fore been determined by the Town Board of the Town of Southold relating to the extension of the Mattituck Lighting District No. 1 in said Town, and WHEREAS, such map or plan has been duly filed in the Town Clerk' s Office in said Town, and WHEREAS, said map or plan was prepared by Otto W. VanTuyl & Son, competent engineers and surveyors duly licensed by the State of New York, showing the boundaries of the proposed district; and WHEREAS, the boundaries of the proposed district are as follows: , . BEGINNING at the center line of Bay Avenue on the northerly shore of Great Peconic Bay, about 500 feet southerly from the southwesterly corner of the existing Mattituck Lighting District No. 1; running thence south- westerly along said shore line about 1800 feet to the westerly line of land of Husing and the northeasterly end of the existing Mattituck Lighting District No. II; thence northwesterly along the last described- line to the center line of Great Peconic -Bay Boulevard; thence southwesterly along the center line of Great Peconic Bay Boulevard to the center line .of Laurel Lane and the line between the Town of Riverhead and the Town of Southoldr thence northerly along said Town Line to Long Island Sound; thence north- easterly along Long Island Sound about 20, 000 feet to land of Frank Bialeski; thence southeasterly along land of Frank Bialeski to Oregon Road; thence southeasterly along lands of S. Kaleski and W. H. Wickham Estate to land of E. C. Tuthill; thence southwesterly along land of E. C. Tuthill .to land of G. B. Tuthill Estate; thence northwesterly- and then southwesterly along lzmd of G. B. Tuthill Estate to land of C. E. Tuthill Estate; thence along land of C. E. Tuthill Estate southwesterly and then generally south= easterly to Middle Road; t1wce southeasterly along land of E. C. Tuthill to the center line of the Long Island Railroad Company.; thence southwest- erly along the eel -ter line of 'Long Island Railroad Company to the south-- westerly line of land of Peter Kurkoski; thence southeasterly and then northeasterly along land of Peter Kurkoski to land of George Alec; thence southeasterly along land of George Alec to land of Begenski Estate; thence southwesterly, then southeasterly, then southwesterly, then southeasterly along Begenski Estate to the center line of the Main Road; thence easterly- along the MAin Road to the westerly line of land of M. Elak; southerly- along land of M. Elak to the center line of New Suffolk Avenue; thence easterly along the center line of New Suffolk Avenue to the center line of Hall' s Creek; thence southerly along the center line of Hall 's Creek to said northerly shore of Great Peconic Bay; thence southwesterly along said shore about 9, 000 feet to the point of beginning. Within the above described area is included all of the existing Mattituck Lighting District No. 1; and WHEREAS, the improvements proposed are the installation and operation of- street lighting facilities on the public highways of said proposed district; and W23RREAS, the proposed method of financing the cost of said improvement consists of assessments levied on benefited real property within said proposed District; and WHEREAS, the maximum amount proposed to be expended for said improvement is Two Thousand ($2, 000.00) Dollarsd; and 98 WHEREAS, said map or plan describing said improvement is on file .in the Town Clerk's Office, for public inspection, now On Motion of Justice of the Peace .Tuthill and seconded by Councilman. Grathwohl, it is hereby ORDERED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold shall meet and. hold a public hearing at Village Hall in the Village of Greenport in said Town on the 24th day of July, 1962 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on that- day, to consider said map or planz� and and to hear all persons interested in the subject thereof concerning the same, and to take such action thereon as is required or authorized by law. .
