one to be at Eugene Heights and one at Greenport. It was decided to find
out how the people felt about a light district which would include all
land between Mill Creek and East Marion Light District.

WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING
We, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of-
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice of
the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be held
at Greenport, in- the town of Southold; New York, on Fih±day:;-,.January 19,
1962, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said date for the
transaction of any business which may properly come before this meeting.

A ppecial meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the Supervisor ' s
Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. the members of the Board having
waived notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting. The meeting
was called to order by the Supervisor at 9: 00 A.M. with the following
present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices
Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS, the accounts of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson were audited and
the annual report was filed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That such annual statement of Supervisor
Lester M. Albertson be entered in detail in the minutes of this meeting
by the Town Clerk as required by Section 105 of the Town Law.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes--Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District wish to
advertise for bids and contract to furnish labor and material to erect a
sheet pile bulkhead at the New London Terminal at the Fishers Island Ferry
District, located at the foot of State Street, New London, Conn. and to
replace one pile of the five (5) pile delphih,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves of
the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District .
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson ; Councilmen -Demarest and
Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
(The following resolution was introduced by the 'Chairman and adopted by -
the unanimous affirmative vote of the Board of Commissioners of the
Fishers Island Ferry District)
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District
had drawn up a contract for the operation of the Mystic Isle for the period
Jan. 1, 1962 through December 31, 1962, and.
WHEREAS, the ~Board of Commissioners have advertised for bids for said
operation and have -received two bids, and

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold has brought to the
attention of the Board of Commissioners the fact that subject contract
should have been presented to the Town Board for approval prior to
bids being sought, and
WHEREAS, on the basis of this the contract and the actions of the Board
of Commissioners have been nullified by the Town Board,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island
Ferry District do hereby petition the Town Board of the Town of
Southold for authority to operate the M/V Mystic Isle on the basis of
the contract with Alfred S. Bicknell, of Mystic, Conn. , which expired
on December 31, 1961 until such time as the proposed contract can be
approved by the Town Board of the Town of Southold and bids for the
operation of the M/V Mystic Isle can be re-advertised.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves
of the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry
District.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That Fishers Island Ferry District bill in the amount of
$2994.80 be and the same is hereby ordered paid.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Movedby Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS, Albert,!.W. Richmond, Town Clerk. , has appointed Mrs. Dorothy
B. Edwards as Deputy Town Clerk of Fishers Island,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board approves the action of
the Town Clerk, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Mrs. Dorothy B. Edwards, Deputy Town Clerk, shall have
such power and shall perform such duties as the Town Clerk.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is
authorized to advertise the Supervisor ' s Report in the Southold
Traveler-Mattituck Watchman as well as the Suffolk Times.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
A letter was received from Patrick Gorman, Cutchogue, N.Y. advising
the Town of cans and papers discarded along the highway, also thanking
them for the extra street lights on Depot Lane, Cutchogue, N.Y.
