Gillispie, Jr., Chairman Robert Bergen Wo'keca v,—pinQ49 Charles Gregonis, Jr. Serge Doyen, Jr. Fred Hulse, Jr. M I N U T E S SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD OF APPEALS August 31, 1964 A special meeting of the Southold Town Board of Appeals was held at the call of the Chairman on Monday, August 31, 1964, at 11:45 A.M. , at the Town Office, Main Road, _ Southold, New York. There were present: Messrs: Robert 'W. Gillispie, Jr. , Chairman, Robert Bergen, Charles Grigonis, Jr. Absent: Messrs: Fred Hulse, Jr. , . Serge Doyen, Jr. Mike Winiarz, Mattituck, New York, appeared before the Board with an application for a variance. Mr.- Winiarz has plans of building a business building in Mattituck on the Main Road, how- ever, there is also a residence on this property. The Board and Mr. Winiarz discussed the application at some lenght. The Board made a few suggestions in regard tothe. application. The Board suggested that the building be erected parallel to the road. The Board also suggested leaving at least 3 feet on the side and there should be 25 feet from the road. Southold Town Board of ApL__ `_Ls -2- August 31, -64 On motion by Mr. Gillispie, seconded by Mr. Bergen, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board of Appeals set 7:30 P.M. (E.D.S.T. ) , Thursday, September 10, 1964, at the Town Office, Main Road, Southold, New York, as time and place of hearing upon appli- cation of Mike Winiarz, Mattituck, New York, a/c Stanely Winiarz, Mattituck, New York, for a variance in accordance withthe Zoning Ordinance, Article IV, Section 400,. Subdivision 1, and Article IV, Section 409, for permission to erect a business building. Location of property: north side Main Road, Mattituck, New York, bounded north by church property, east by Esso Standard Oil, south by Main Road, west by Joseph Moisa. Vote of the Board: Ayes:-Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, Mr. Grigonis. On motion by Mr. Bergen, seconded by Mr. Grigonis, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board of- Appeals set 7:45 P.M. (E.D.S. T. ) , Thursday, September 10, 1964, at the Town Office, Main Road, Southold, New York, as tine and place of hearing upon appli- cation of Ellsworth Grathwohl, Main Road, Southold, New York, a/c Louis Perkinson, - Southold, New York, fora variance in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article III, Section 307, for permission to build an addition to an existing dwelling with insufficient side yard. Location of property: south side private right-of-way off east side Bay Home Road,. Southold, New York, bounded north by A.W. Fismer, Est. , east by Grace Fismer, south by Bay, and west by A.W. Fismer'Est. Vote of the Board: Ayes:-Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, Mr. Grigonis. It was further RESOLVED that the legal notice of hearing be published in the official newspaper, the Long Island Traveler- Mattituck-Watchman, on September 3, 1964. Mr. Daniel Smith appeared before the Board with an idea of changing a blacksmith shop into a historial place of interest. He was appearing on behalf of his aunt who wants to have this black- smith shop preserved. The Board felt that there would be a great deal of difficulty in preserving this blacksmith shop as a historial place. The property would have to be cut-up, thus decreasing the ' value. There would have to be provisions made for parking. The Board feels that such a project would change the character of the neighborhood. Southold Town Board of Al.,_2Ils -3- August 31', _364 On motion by Mr. Gillispie, seconded by Mr. Bergen, it was RESOLVED that :the minutes of the Southold Town Board of Appeals dated -August 20, 1964,. be approved as submitted. Vote of the Board: Ayes:-Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, Mr. Grigonis. The next meeting of the Southold Town Board of'Appeals will be held 7:30 P.M. , Thursday, September 100 1964, at .the Town Office, Main 'Road, Southold, New York.
