HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/13/2023Town of Southold Housing Advisory Commission Meeting #174 June 13, 2023 — Via In -Person and Zoom Present: Pat Lutzky via Zoom, Eric Dantes (left at 5:00 pm), Marilyn Sierra, Cheryle Amara, Anne Smith, Mark Levine, Nancy Messer. Jill Doherty (Not sure if she was present or on Zoom) Absent: Mara Cerezo Guests: Meeting began at 4:30 p.m. 1. Approval of Meeting Minutes a. April 18, 2023 Meeting Minutes —Cheryle Amara made a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Eric Dantes — 2nd. Approved unanimous. b. May 16, 2023 Meeting canceled. 2. Housing Plan— Pat Lutzky a. Informational Seminars b. Marilyn Sierra -June 20`h— Floyd Memorial Library c. Anne Smith —June 27"— Mattituck d. Fisher's Island —June 22nd— Via Zoom e. Senior Center— Date to be determined. f. HAC in Support as presented. g. North Fork Civic in Support. h. The only comments were that the Town should hire someone to implement. i. Public Hearing hopefully set for early August. j. Mark and Mara will give feedback to the Town Board that they receive from public. 3. Accessory Dwelling Units. a. Long Island Housing Community hoping to meet with Mark and Mara in June. b. Fact sheet for homeowners and renters. c. Eric will come up with a draft for the A.D.U. grant process. 4. RFP process for anew development of Affordable Housing/Workforce Housing. a. Jill doesn't believe any proposals have been received. b. Eric asked if Town Engineer could get aseptic permit. c. Jill wasn't sure if they will give permit on a plan without specifics. d. Cruz Brothers revising their Cutchogue plans. 5. Retrofitting existing structures as potential AH/WFH a. Does HAC want to retrofit existing structures for renovations? b. New developments have not been productive and thought maybe rehabbing an old property. 6. Hire Provisional Housing Person a. Town is working on creating position. They don't like to hire provisional in case they are not reachable on list. b. Maybe hire a part time person in the future. 7. New Business— Pat Lutzky a. New County legislation for new affordable housing projects needed for Veteran's and Disabled. b. Jill is in favor of helping these groups. c. TB set public hearing in support of Volunteer Fire Fighters being on top of the Affordable Housing in the county. d. Housing Plan has a Hero Grant section to include Nurses, teachers, etc. 8. Update on projects. a. CharlesSalice—Feather Hill moving forward. 9. Old Business a. N/A 10. Motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 pm by Cheryle Amara, Mark Levine, 2nd. Approved unanimously.
