HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/20/2022Town of Southold Housing Advisory Commission Meeting #169 December 20, 2022 – Via In-Person and Zoom Present: Pat Lutzky, Eric Dantes, Cheryle Amara, Marilyn Sierra (via Zoom), Mark Levine, Nancy Messer (via Zoom), Jill Doherty (via Zoom). Absent: Attorney Guests: Randy Wade Meeting began at 4:30 p.m. 1. Approval of Meeting Minutes a. November 22, 2022 Meeting Minutes – Mark made a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Eric Dantes – 2nd. Approved unanimous. 2. Paul Pawlowski Projects – Paul Pawlowski Peconic Property a. Pat indicated that Public Hearings coming up. HAC needs to be present to support. b. Carroll Avenue cottages are moving forward. c. 24 Cottages on six acres. Greenport Property a. Addressed neighbors’ concerns. b. Reduced 25% across the board. c. Went from 40 apartments and 24,000 square foot of medical space to 30 apartments and less than 18,000 medical. d. Paul would like HAC support at Public Hearing February 6, 2023. e. HAC can send a flyer to registry to come out in Support of Affordable Housing Rentals. f. Jill is in support of subdivision in Peconic. TB moving ahead. 3. Cruz Brothers Project – Jill Doherty a. New Concept Application Process. b. They have made positive changes. c. Overall plan is good. d. Will coming back to Planning with recommendations for TB to approve. 4. Todd Fuerstein – Cutchogue and Southold Cheryle a. Received draft Covenants and Restrictions last week. b. Jill will follow up with Heather in Planning. 5. Housing Plan Progress – Jill and Mark a. Consultant submitted a couple of chapters to the board for their review. b. Meeting On December 21, 2022 with Mara, Mark, Jill and Kathy and Taylor from consultants. c. Requesting Mara sends an update to the Town Board. Jill looking for a January meeting. 6. Re-Zoning Plan Update – Jill Doherty 7. Update on Increased Density – Jill Doherty a. Jill wants to speak to the town attorney to review the code to see how complicated it is to change the code. b. Hoping John can make changes to bring to the Town Board for the January TB meeting. c. No negative comments from the Town Board on increasing density from 24 to 48 units. 8. Update on NYS Grant Program to develop accessory dwelling units/accessory apartments. a. Jill – No update until maybe January. Still gathering information. 9. Fill Vacancy on HAC a. There are a couple of people interested in applying for vacancy. 10. New Business a. None 11. Eric Dantes made a motion to adjourn meeting. Mark Levine – 2nd Approved unanimous. Meeting adjourned – 5:30 pm Next Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday, January 24, 2023 @4:30 pm VIA In-Person and Zoom.
