Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, at 3 :00 P.M. , Tuesday, February 26, 1974, with the -following present: Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia Councilman James H. Rich, Jr. Councilman James. Homan Justice Martin Suter Justice Louis M. Demarest Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker Highway Superintendent Raymond C. Dean T6Whwelrerk Albert W. Richmond Absent: Justice Francis T. Doyen On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the minutestof February 8, 1974 be and they hereby are approved. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia , Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justiee Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at 3 :00 P.M. , Tuesday, March 12 , 1974 -at the office of Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenpor.t, New York. Vote of the Town Board-:''_- Ayes :`.=Supervisor' Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice .Demarest. - On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was. RESOLVED that the January 1974 report of the Fishers Island Ferry District be accepted by the Southold Town Board and placed on file. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman, Homan, Justice.- Suter, Justice: Demarest.. On- motion of- justice Suter`, seconded by Councilman Rich, it .was RESOLVED that Terrance Ktisman, -, d-irector of youth activities and director of -the narcotic council for Southold Town be granted permission to maintain a $50.00 petty cash fund. A1.1 charges against this fund must be .presented on a voucher to replenish same. Vote of the Town -Board: • 'Ayes': Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan,—seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board authorized payment of $1, 200.00 to Elaine F. Ka-ldor'; .Certified -Public Accountant, contractor for audit of the' books and records of officers- a-nd employees. o.f •the. Town of Southold for the fiscal year 1973 . Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : -Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice 'Demarest. On motion of Justice Demarest, seco nded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that Barbara' Andrade be and- she hereby is. appointed Court Clerk of the Town of Southold, effective February 26 , 1.974, at a salary of $4.00 per hour. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : , Supervisor,'-Martocchia,, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, 'Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that Barbara Dittmann be and she hereby is: appointed .Court Clerk, Town of Southold, effective February,-..26 1.9.74., at a salary of $4. 00 per hour . Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board authorize .payment of $1, 000.00 to Steven Techet for legal services, provided such bill is placed on a proper Town voucher. Vote of the Town Board : Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS Zdzislaw Mekal.ojczyk has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated January 15, 1974, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of Zczislaw Mekalojczyk to locate a single trailer on his property at Johns Road, east side Main Road, Mattituck, New York, be and hereby is granted for a six (6) month period. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor,Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice. Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS John Tuthill applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated February 21, 1974, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of John Tuthill to locate a single "trailer on his property at the east side of Elijah's Lane, Mattituck, New York, be and hereby is granted for a six month period. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Suter, WHEREAS Sophie Saunders applied to the Town Board for a. single trailer renewal permit dated March 6 , 1974, NOW,- THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of Sophie Saunders to locate a single trailer on her property at Main Road, Laurel, New York, be and hereby is granted for a period of six (6) months . Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice -Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS Edmund Bokina applied to the Town Board for a single trailer permit for farm labor, application dated February 25 , 1974, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of Edmund Bokina to locate a single trailer on leased land on the Main Road, Laurel, New York, for housing farm labor be and hereby is. granted for a period beginning Janealy 1974 through November 1, 1974, subject to the approval of the Board of Appeals under Section 300, Subsection B, 8 (ate►. Vote of- the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter , WHEREAS W. Edgar Worthington applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated January 15 , 1974, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of W. Edgar Worthington to locate a single trailer on his property at the south side of Sound -Avenue, Mattituck, New York, be and hereby is granted for a period of six (6) months. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by ,Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, 500, 000 gallons of Asphalt Road Materials, more or less as may be needed, for the repairs of Town Highways. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. FED 2 61974- Moved by Councilman, Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, 10, 000 gallons , more or less as may be needed, for the Highway Department and Disposal Area, of Diesel Fuel. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, the .following : One New Mobil Sweeper, 1974, Model TE 4 (or equal) without any trade-in. Vote of the Town Board: , Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, the following: One (1) New 1974 four-door Sedan with trade-in allowance on a 1970 Pontiac Executive 4-dr. Hardtop. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that George Lessard, Mattituck, New York, be recommended for appointment as. a Fire Coordinator . for the Town of Southold. Charges for installing a radio and other equipment in -his car shall be a legal charge against the Town of Southold. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be and he hereby is authorized to sign the necessary papers for AN ACT, Senate Bill . No. S-958-A, To Amend- the highway law, .in relation to the .transfer of a certain village stree and town highway in the county of Suffolk to •the state and transfer of a certain skate highway to the county of Suffolk. (The State wouldabandon to Suffolk County a part of State Highway 1719 (Touring Route 114) , in the Village of Greenport, and would add to the Htate Highway System a portion of Touring Route 25 in the vicinity of the Village of Greenport lying between State Highway 1719 and State Highway 8380. ) Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, -Justice Demarest. Robert Reeves, Jr. , President of the Southold Town Fire Chief ' s Council read a letter to the Southold Town Board (copy on file in the Town Clerk ' s Office) recommending that Southold Town adopt a Fire -Precention' and Safety- Code. Mrs . Jean Tiedke suggested that the Town Board purchase, for preservation purposes, property in .Southold Town in recognition of the- 1976 BiCentennial celebration. Mr. Willard Lawrence, Town Historian, advised the Town Board that preparations have begun on the 1976 Bicentennial celebration. On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, -it was RESOLVED that this Town Board meeting be. adjourned, at .4 :05 .P.M.
