-MBBFING OF NOVEMBER 10, 1960.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Henry
H. Tuthill,_ at Greenport, on Thursday, Nov. 10, 1960. The meeting, was
:galled to order at 1: 30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justice Tuthill; Supt. of
Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the minutes ,of the meeting of October 25, 1960, be and
they hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of. Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justice Tuthill:
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the bid of Calub Smith & Sons Inc. for proposals to
furnish to the Town of Southold Police Uniforms be rejected.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justice Tuthill.
At 2: 00 P.M. in accordance with the notice published according to ,law,
bids were opened for proposals to furnish to the Town .of Southold two
new 1961 Police cars, 2-door sedans, .8 cylinders standard model. (mini-
mum gheelbase 118 inches) for use as police cars.

WHEREAS, the Police Committee reported that the lowest. bid on the

is directed to enter into a contract with the Cutchogue Auto Sales
for the purchase of two (2) 1961 2 door sedans, standard model, 8-cyl.
automobiles- at a net price of �$24_6.0.lLO to be delivered at the Police De-

WHEREAS, Southold Planning Board has prepared an official report and
recommendation upon the petition of WILLIAM A. DAVIS for a change -of
zone from "A" Residential & Agricultural District to. "M Multiple Res-
idence District on -certain property, corner of 4th street and Main
Street, New Suffolk, N.Y.
-NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: '•That a public hearing will be. held' by
the Southold Town Board- at' the Supervisor 's Office, on Tuesday, Nova 29,
1960, at 7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the. Town
Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause a ndtice of

N.Y. , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held
by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor' s Office on Tuesday, Nov. 29,
1960, at 7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the Town
Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed, to cause a notice .o f
said hearing to be published in the -Long Island Traveler-Mattituck,
Watchman_ pursuant to the requirements of, law.

WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District wish to
enter into a bareboat charter for use of the M.V. ' Quonset with the .inter-
state Navigation Company for a period commencing on or before Nov. 7,
1960 at New London, Conn. to Nov. 9, 1960, both dates inclusiveat bhe
rate of $500.00 for .the first two days of the charter ,and at the rate
of $200.00 per day for any additional days thereafter,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold'iTown Board approved
of the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers; Island Ferry District
in entering into the contract as above stated with the Interstate Navig-
ation Company.

'RESOLUTION OF TOWN BOARD ADOPTING ANNUAL BUDGET
WITHOUT AMENDMENT
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold, N.Y. has met at the
time and place specified in the notice of public hearing on the prelim-
inary budget and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon; now there- .
fore be it
RESOLVED: That the' Town Board of the Town of Southold does hereby adopt
such preliminary budget as originally compiled, as the annual budget of
this Town for the fiscal year beginning .on the 1st day of January, 1961,
and that such budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the minutes
of the proceedings of this Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall prepare and
certify, in duplicate, copies of said annual budget as adopted by the
Town Board of the Town of Southold, together with the estimates, if any,
adopted pursuant to Section 202-a, subdivision 2, of the Town Law; and
deliver one copy thereof to the Supervisor of this Town to be presented
by him to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Suffolk.

in 10' lengths, and 9 - 36" couplings thereto.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Henry H. Tuthill of the Town of South old be
and he hereby is authorized to readvertise for bids for Police Uniforms,
and be it further
RESOLVED: That bids for uniforms for Police be opened at 7: 30 P.M. on
Nov. 29, 1960, at the Supervisor' s Office, 16 South, Street, Greenport,
N.Y. ' Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; councilmen Albertson
and- Demarest; Justices Tuthill.
The meeting was recessed at 4: 37 P.M. and reconvened at 7: 30 P.M.
At 7: 30 P.M. the Supervisor opened a public hearing on the question of
granting "a Franchise to the Village of Greenport to use streets, high-
ways and public places or parts thereof or Apace above or under thereon
or any part of them to erect and maintain electrsc power lines in
School District #10 as advertised in the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck
Watchman. Justice Henry A. Clark was present at the 7: 30 Meeting.
Minutes of the meeting were taken by Mrs. Zipkas.
Following the public hearing, the Town Board meeting was reconvendd .
at 8: 10 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson:
WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant to due notice thereof, held a hearing
on said Franchise on Nov. 10, 1960, at which time all interested <persons
were given an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board grant said Franchise
to the Village of Greenport, to erect and 46&intain .electric light -and'
power lines with the area embraced within School District #10 in the
Town of Southold and that Supervisor -Henry H. Tuthill be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the Village
of Greenport, in the form submitted and filed by the Village Attorney-
pfrthe Village of Greenport.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Councilmen Albertson- and Demarest; Justices
Tuthill and Clark. Not Voting-Supervisor Tuthill.
Moved by Conncilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5,403 .29; Lighting
District Bills in the amount of $2, 178..37; Fishers Island Ferry
District Bills in the amount of $18, 996.57 be and the same are hereby
ordered paid.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be ad he hereby
is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install four
(4) Mercury Vapor Lights on L.I.L. Poles #31 and 33 across from the Mttt-
ituck School, L.I.L. Pole #4 at end of Howard Ave. and W stphalia Road
and NYT. Co. Pile #11 Pike Street in front of Fire House, all in the
Mattituck Lighting District #1.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and .Clark.
