MEETING OF OCTOBER 10, 1960.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor,
Henry H. Tuthill, at Greenport, on Monday, October 10, 1960. The
meeting was called .to order at 1: 30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill
and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town
Clerk Richmond.
The Board sat at onee as a committee on Audit to examine claims against
the Town.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of October 4, 1960 be and
they hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark..
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will be
held at the office of Supervisor Henry H. Tuthill, 16 South Street,
Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, October 25, 1,960, at 7:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen ,Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
WHEREAS, Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official report
and recommendation upon the petition of Frank Pumillo to extend "B"
Business Zone southerly to cover all of said parcel in Mattitucl N.Y.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT .RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held
by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor' s Office, in Greenport,
on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 1960 at 7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition
and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed
to cause a notice of said hearing to be published in ,the Long Island
Traveler-Mattitack Watchman, pursuant to the requirements of law.

Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

WHEREAS, Southold��oManning Board has prepared an official report and ,
recommendation upon the petition of the Jr .Order United American
Mechanics for a change of zone from "All Residential and Agricultural
District to "B" Business District on certain property on South Side
of Sound Auenue,MAttituck, N.Y. ,
. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by
the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor ' s Office on Tuesday, Oct. 25,
1960, at 7: 30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the Town
Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause a notice
of said hearing to be published in .the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck
Watchman, pursuant to the requirements of law.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from William Victoria requesting a
change of zone of certain property described in said petition from
"A" Residential and Agricultural District to "M" Multiple Residence
District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he is hereby directed to transmit this application to
the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of
Article IX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold.

RESOLVED: ' That the Supt. of Highways of the- Town of Southold be author-
ized to purchase mne (1) second hand 2 ton Roller from Municipal
Machinery Ca., Coram, N.Y. for three hundred Q00.00) dollars.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for -the month of September be accepted

and he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids for Police Uniforms.

RESOLVED: That bids for uniforms for Police ,be opened at 7:30 P.M. at
the Supervisor' s Office 16 South street, Greenport, N.Y. on Oct. 25,
1960. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tttiill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Albert W. Richmond, Town Clerk, be and hereby is author-
ized to advertise for seal proposals for furnishing and delivering :to
the Town of Southold, two new 1961 2-door sedans, 8 cylinders, standard
model automobiles minimum •wheelbase 118 inches, color black for use as
police cars, each to be equipped with heater and defroster, spare wheel
and five (5) standard 4-ply tires, heavy duty battery, spot light,
manuel gear shift, positive traction rear, backup lights, seat covers.
All bids must include trade-.in allowance for 2 police cars '
presently owned by said Town. 'The Town Board reserves the right to
reject any and all bids and to waive any defect or informality in any
bid should it be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of
Southold to do so. Bids are:::to. be publicly opened and read at 2:00
o'clock P.M. on Nov. 10, 1960.

RESOLUTION OF TOWN BOARD APPROVING
PRELIMINARY BUDGET. AND CALLING
PUBLIC HEARING THEREON
RESOLVED: That this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the
preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the
1st day of January, 1961 the itemized statement of estimated revenues
and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this resolution,
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That such preliminary budget be filed in the office
of the Town Clerk where it shall be .available for inspection by any
interested person at all reasonable hours, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That this board shall meet at 2 o'cloc$ p.m. on the
loth day of November, 1960, for the purpose of holding a public hearing
upon such preliminary budget, and be, it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of such heating in
the manner provided in Section 113 of the Town Law, and that such notice
be published in substantially the following form:-

UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET '
Notice is hereby given that the preliminary budget of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County,. New. York, for the fiscal year beginning
January lst, 1961, has been completed and filed in the office of the
Town Clerk at Southold, New York, where it is available for inspection
by any interested person at all reasonable hours.
Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of
Southold will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a
public, hearing thereon, at the Office of the Supervisor, 16 South
Street, Greenport, New York, in said Town, at 2 o"clock P.M. on the
loth day of November, 1960, and that at such hearing any person may
be heard in favor -of or against the preliminary budget as compiled
or for or against any item or items therein contained.
AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY .GIVEN, pursuant to Section 113 of the
Town Law, that the following are proposed yearly salaries of Town
officers of this Town to wit:-
