MEETING OF AUGUST 23, 1960 FISHERS ISLAND
The Annual -Fishers Island Meeting of the Southold Town Board was held
on Tuesday, August 23, 1960, in the Fishers Island School. The meeting
was called to order by the Supervisor at 1: 30 .P.M. with the following
present: Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen AlbertsonE:and Demarest Justices
Tuthill, . Clark and Edwards; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town
Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Also officials of the State,
County and Town and a delegation of Fishers Island residents were present.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the reading of 'the minutes of the previous meeting be
dispensed with.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervis)r Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.
Supervisor Tuthill inquired if there were any problems the Fishers
Island people would like to discuss. There being no problems, the
meeting was adjourned at 2:00 P.M.

WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING
WE, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice
of the time, place, and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to
be held on the boat, Tex III, Town of Southold, New York, on Tuesday,
August 23, 1960, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said
date for the transaction of any business which may properly come before\
the meeting.

A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held aboard the Boat
Tex III on August 23, 1960, the members,•,of the Board having waived
notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting. The meeting
was called to order by' Supervisor Tuthill at 430 P.M. with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson : and Demarest;
Supt. of Highways Price; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney
Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of the Southold Town Board
be held at the office of Supervisor Henry H. Tuthill 'at 16 South Street,
Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, Sept . 13, 1960 at 1:30 .P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertsona and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Itlark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; Seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. SM178-199-5, issued by the American Motorists
Insurance Company in the name of Edward Stanley Brush in the sum of
$500.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of
execution and sufficiency of sureties therein.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
WHEREAS, the Town Board feels that it is in the best interest of the
Town to have insurance of Town properties handled by one Insurance
Agency for economical and good coverage ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the McMann-Price insurance Agency
be engaged to.handle all Town Insurance.

Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the. Fishers Island Ferry District
are of the opinion that it is in the best interest of the Fishers .Island
Ferry District to have available two individuals whose services can be
. utilized immediately when referenced emergency repairs and maintenance
problems exist, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners unanimously agree that J. B. Hartsfield
and Rrnest Middleton, Jr. of Fishers Island, New York, are well qualified
to fill the need,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That J. B. Hartsfield and Ernest Middleton, Jr .
