MEETING OF APRIL 25, 1960'.
The Southold Town Board mete at . the' office of Town Clerk -in Southold,
New York, on Monday, April 25, 1960. The meeting was called to order
at- 7:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Tuthill; Council-
men Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. ,
Moved by Justice Clark:;__seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of the Southold Town
Board be held at the office of Supervisor Henry H. Tuthill, 16
South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, May 10, 1960, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board:' Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
-_Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
WHEREAS, the annual budget for the current fiscal year includes an
appropriation in the amount of $6000.00 for the repair and construct-
ion of bridges and
WHEREAS, of such sum so appropriated, the sum of $6000.00 remains
unexpended to date, and'
WHEREAS, after due allowance for outstanding claims and for further
expenditures chargeable against such appropriation or account,
there is an unexpended balance in said appropriation or account, in
the amount of $5500.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that $5000.00 of said unexpended
balan-Ce be and the same.hereby is transferred to the Highway
Machinery Account (Item 3) , and that the amount heretofore approp-
riated for highway machinery purposes be and the same hereby is
increased in the amount of $5000.00/

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS, the Town Superintendent of Highways did on the 18th day of
April, 1960, duly recommend the purchase of a new truck crane for
the Town of Southold, pursuant to the provisions of Section 14.2 of
the Highway Law,
NOW,- THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law, the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby 'author-
ized to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of Article 5-A
of the General Municipal Law, with the approval of the County
Superintendent of Highways, a new truck crane for a .maximum price
of $22, 600.00, delivered at *Peconic, in the Town of Southold, New
York, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Town Superintendent of Highways
be and he hereby is authorized, subject to the approval of the County
Superintendent of Highways, to surrender to the Vendor the truck
crane presently owned by the Town of Southold as part payment of
the above-mentioned new truck crane to be purchased and that the
balance .of the cost of said new truck crane be paid from the proceeds ..
of a $10 000 :00 deferred payment note to be issued pursuant to the
.provisions•. of the Local Finance Law and by the use of current funds
of said .Town.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Supervisor Tuthill called recess at 7:50 P.M. to meet with the
Board of Appeals and the Planning Board to reconvene after the joint
meeting.
At 10: 10 P.M. the joint meeting adjourned, there being no further
business to be brought before the Town Board.
