We would like to obtain a certificate of appropriateness to replace 17 windows on our house located at 595 King Street, Orient NY We would also like to replace an Andersen patio door (on front porch) and wood scre n with a new inside wood dutch door and a mahogany wood storm door with copper screens. We also want to replace the louvered front storm door (which we will retain and store) with a new mahogany storm door with copper screens. The origi al front door will remain and will be visible through a new storm door. We seek approval to replace the windows and doors Ito increase the energy efficiency of the house as well as to allow us the ability to use the windows in the house as many do not open, won't stay open and sometimes dangerously slam close. There are many cracked panes and some will of fully close nor lock. Safety is also an issue in the event of an emergency. The window or door sizes are not changing from existing sized and all trim and sill will match the existing remaining windows. Please review my application and let me know if you have any questions.
