Dear Mr. McMillen:
This letter is a follow up to your letter received on May 27, 2026, along with a
photograph. 'The Board of Trustees reviewed your request to remove and replace two
dead trees on your property within 100' of the wetlands. The trees was reviewed and
seen by Trustee Nicholas Krupski on June 1, 2026.
The Board of Trustees determined that the two dead trees may be removed at this time.
No permit will be required in order to perform this work.
Any other activity within 1 00''of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Dear Board Members,
Last fall we received permission from your staff to have Coastal Planting plant two
Eastern Red Cedars within 100 feet of the upland edge of the marsh. The staff at
Coastal Planting also checked with your staff before planting the trees.
Unfortunately, the trees did not survive the winter (see attached photo).
am writing to inform you that we have engaged White Oak Farm (on Shelter Island) to
remove the dead trees and replace them with two Eastern Red Cedars. If you wish, I
can send you a picture of the new trees once they are panted.
