LOCAL WATERFRONT REVITALIZATION PROGRAM

Re: LWRP Coastal Consistency Review
JANE G. WEILAND, SCTM# 1000-111.-13-11
This application is to install an 18'x40' in-ground pool with a 12'x22' pool patio, pool
enclosure fencing with gates, a pool drywell, pool equipment area; and a stepping stone
path.
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter §268, Waterfront Consistency
Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization
Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP
Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records
available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with
the policies of the LWRP as follows:
Policy 6. Protect and restore the quality and function of the Town of Southold's
ecosystem.
6.3. Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands.
A. Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town
Board of Trustees laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands
under their jurisdiction.
D. Provide adequate buffers between wetlands and adjacent or nearby uses and
activities in order to ensure protection of the wetland's character, quality, values,
and functions. The adequacy of the buffer depends on the following factors
While the proposed action conforms to required setbacks within Town Code, the
applicant should consider altering the location of the pool and patio so as not to have to
remove mature trees on the property. There appears to be sufficient open space to
accomplish the proposed plan without removing trees.
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter §268, Waterfront Consistency
Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization
Program (LWRP) Policy Standards.
