With regard to the Final Inspection requested for Wetland Permit#10527,the cottage itself,Trustee Peeples noted two issues as follows: 1. On landward of the house and to the south of the house there are retaining walls, walkways and stairs that are not part of the permit. 2. There is an unpermitted outdoor shower connected to roof run-off dry wells. i contacted the office on December 8th regarding resolution and was told to submit two copies of the updated site plan depicting the,noted items,a fee of$100,and a letter addressing the changes. In 1951 my family purchased the small 537 square foot,one floor, two bedroom,one bathroom,seasonal cottage situated on a.23 acre lot adjacent to Corey Creek. The family enjoyed the cottage for many summers but after more than 70 years it needed renewal. Construction on the cottage required the granting of a variance in November of 2023 increasing the size to meet the requirement for a 850 square foot loft habitable space and the installation of an Innovation Advanced (1/A)septic system in the front yard adjacent to Koke Drive. The issued Trustee Wetland approved site plan dated February 13,2024 depicts those variance requirements. In August of 2024 I received Suffolk County approval for the l/A septic system design and in October 2024 I received an approved Building permit that met all requirements, essentially keeping a one floor,two bedroom,one bathroom cottage at the same location,elevation,and grade from Koke Drive down to Corey Creek. For issue number(1)those constraints and the approved I/A location and the elevation and grade relative to Koke drive drove the design and construction of the I/A system for the cottage and required the addition of the retaining walls,walkways and stairs and which were not fully understood at the time the site plan was approved by the Trustees ten months prior in February 2024 and therefore were not represented then. For issue(2)the outdoor shower was inadvertently left off the submitted site plan. My architect Jake LaChapelle will submit two copies of the updated site plan depicting the noted items,the fee of$100,and this letter addressing the changes. Please contact me if any further action is required to obtain the Certificate of Compliance for Wetland Permit#10527. This is one of the two last item identified on the Building Department Final Inspection and I am eager to obtain the CO so my family can enjoy our cottage once again after many years of approvals and construction.Thank you.
