Meeting Minutes
April 15, 2026
Town Hall Annex, Lower Level (Basement) 4:00 PM
54375 Main Road, Southold, NY
Present: Jack, Brent, George, Amanda, Paul, Alexa, Liz (Secretary), Heather (via Zoom)
Excused: Rich, Jen, Brian
Absent: Lucine
Call to Order: Chairman Jack called the meeting to order at 4:07 PM.
Appointments & Announcements: Jack announced that the Town Board has appointed George
Maul to the Committee and welcomed him. Paul was appointed as Co-Chair.
Business Incubator Concept: George presented a report exploring the concept of establishing a
business incubator. Various ideas were discussed. George pointed out many examples already
existing locally. We need to follow up with some. Further discussion required.
MIT Program: Alexa introduced (previously emailed to the entire committee) the 'MIT' program
and asked members to review and consider it for potential presentation to the Town Board.
Further discussion necessary.
Organizational Structure: Jack will compile Rich’s organizational suggestions and distribute them
for feedback.
Synergy Summit & Event Calendar: Tabled due to Jennifer’s absence.
Business Directory: No updates at this time.
Meeting Schedule: The Committee has discussed holding two meetings per month. The next
meeting is scheduled for April 27, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Future dates to be discussed. Town Board is
advertising for a new secretary for the committee. This will be Elizabeth’s last month as secretary.
Water Advisory Committee Update: Jack and Rich attended the April 2, 2026 meeting. That
committee is working on a guide titled 'I’m New to Southold’.
Business Resource Guide: The EDC discussed creating an 'I’m Opening a Business in Southold'
guidebook. George and Brent have a list of businesses. Alexa will prepare a draft Town of
Southold Guide for the committee to review.
Items to be put on the next Meeting’s Agenda: Review of Rich’s document; MIT program
discussion (Alexa) and Business Welcome Document Greenport Village Liaison. (Alexa)
