The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Super- visor Norman E. Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Guperintendent of Highways Price; Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meetings__rj ovember 6, November 10 and November 13 be and hereby are duly approved as read. At 2:00 o' clock P.M. in accordance to law, bids were opened for proposals to furnish to the Town of Southold sixty-five 7.50 x ;4 4-ply, nylon, tubeless automobile tires and six 7.50 x 14, 4-ply nylon, tubeless automobile snow tires to be used on police cars. The following bids were submitted: Southold Coop. GLF Service Inc.-21.25 per tire, trade-in allowance $2.00 per tire, total $19.25 per tire. Cutchogue Auto Sales-$24.38 per tire, trade-in allowance $3.00 per tire, total .$21.38 per tire. Paul"s Servicent:e.re 25.90 per tire. GLF Service Inc. , NOW, THEREFORE, .BE IT RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp; Supervisor, be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract with Southold Coop. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest: WHEREAS, the Town of Islip has filed a petition with the Civil Aero- nautic's Board, requesting permission to use McArthur Airport for scheduled air service, and WHEREAS, such service would be of great benefit, not only' to the Town of Islip, but to all the people of Suffolk County, and WHEREAS, the .Town'Board of the Town of Islip has been advised that t4e ' referee before whom said application was heard recommended denial of the application, and WHEREAS, the Town of' Islip is urging- the Civil Aeronautics Board to review the application and° act in favor, now therefore be it RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold supports the Town of Islip in seeking scheduled air service at McArthur Airport, feeling that it would be in the public interest and would promote the development of the airport, and urges the Civil Aeronautics Board to take whatever steps deemed necessary to review tnd take favorable action on the request of the Town of Islip, and be it further RESOLVED: that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Civil Aeronautics Board and a opy be forwarded to the Supervisor of the Town of Islip. Engineers covering the use of the air field, including hangar building #254, and buildings #T-365 amd #127 at Fort H. G. Wright, Fishers Island, New York, for a. term beginning January 1, 1959 -and ending December 31,1959 at a rental amount of $12.00 for the above mentioned period, payahle ain advance. The public hearing relative to change of zone on two parcels of land in Mattituck and amendments to the Building Zone Ordinance was opened by the Supervisor at 7 p.m. .The minutes of this hearing were recorded by George Lederle. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold referred to the Southold Town Planning Board for its official report, a proposal to amend, omits own motion, the Southold Town Building Ordinance, including the Building -Zone Maps, by changing grom "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District the property' hereinafter described, and WHEREAS, the recommendation and official report of said Planning Board conedrning said proposed amendment has been filed with the Town Board, and WHEREAS, a public hearing has held by the Southold Town Board on said proposal at the SupervisorTs Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on the 25th day. of November, 1958, at 7:00 o' clock P.M. ,and WHEREAH, this board deems it in the public interest that s&id property be rezoned from "A" Residential and Agricultural District tp "B" Business District, _" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:. By -amending Article 1, Section '100 by- adding thereto a new para- graph to be paragraph 9A to read as follows: 9A-FAMILY -One or more persons occupying premises as a single house- keeping unit. 2. By amending Article Vll by adding thereto anew section to be Section 703B to read as follows: SECTION. 703B - -CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY (a) It shall be unlawful to use or permit the use of any. build- ing or premises or part -thereof,,-, hereafter created, erected, changed, converted or enlarged -wholly or partly, in its use or structure until a Certificate of Occupancy shall have been issued by the Building Inspector.. Such Certificate shall indicate that such building or premises or part thereof and the proposed use thereof are in conform- ity with the provisions of bhis •Ordinance. (b)_ Under such rules and regulations as may be established by the Board of Appeals,. a tempory Certificate of Occupancy for a part of any ,building or premises may be issued by 'the Building Inspector. (c) Upon written request from the owner or occupant, the Build- ing Inspector shall issue a Certificate of Occupancy for any exist- ing .lawful use and occupancy of a building, or premises. 3. X by adding thereto anew section 'to be section 1000A to read as follows: SECTION 1000A- No lot shall be sold, divided, or set off in such a manner that either the.'portion sold, divided,, or set off, or the portion remaining shall have an area and /or open space of less than that prescribed by this Ordinance for the district in which sAid' lot is lecated. Southold, and WHEREAS, a public hearing upon said application was held by this Board after due notice thereof on November 10th, 1958, and WHEREAS, this Board deems it in the public interest that said fran- chise be granted, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized to execute a franchise agreement on behalf of the Town of Southold substantially in the same form as the proposed agreement ndw on file with the Town for a period of ten years at a fee of $30.00. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, the Southold Town Superintendent of Highways has recommend- ed that the Town of Southold acquire certain real property on the southerly side of Kennyls Road at Southold in the Town of South- old for the purpose of providing drainage facilities to prevent the flooding of Town Highways, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of High- ways be and he is. hereby authorized to purchase on behalf of the Town of Southold for the sum of 'Seven Hundred Fifty ($750.00) Dollars the following described property: ALL that certain piece or parcel of land known and designated as and by Lot no. 14 on a certain Map entitled "Map of Subdivision know as Kennewood" situate at Southold, Suffolk County, New York and filed, in the Suffolk County Clerkts Office on March 319 1948 as Map No. 2180. AMENDMENT # 24 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that after a public hearing held pursuant to 'the requirements of law, the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, was duly amended at a regular meeting of the Southold Town Board held on November 25, 1958, as follows: 1.By amending Article 1, Section 100 by adding thereto . a new paragraph to be paragraph 9A to read as follows: 9A-FAMILY-One or more persons occupying premises as a single. housekeeping unit. 2.
