HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-11/06/1958 :7 MEETING OF. NOVEMBER. 6, 1958 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp ,at Greenport, on Thursday, November 6, 1958. The meeting. was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; C'ouncilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justice Tuthill; Superintendent of H ighways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2:00 P.M. Moved by, Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of October 28 be and hereby are duly Approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and_ Demarest; and Justice Tuthill. Moved by Councilman Albertson; Seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That a meeting of the Town Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport on Monday, November 10,1958, at 7:00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justice Tuthill. Moved by Councilman Albertson- seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Bond No S M176218-3 issued by the American Motorist Insurance Company on behalf of James J. Fitzpatrick in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner and execution and sufficiency of sureties therein:. Vote -of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson mnd Demarest;andd Justice Tuthill. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Albertson: WHEREAS, a petition was received from David I. DeFriest relative to change of zone. Now,� .THEREFORE BE 'IT RESOLVED; That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article IX- of the Buildin g Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold Suffolk County, New York. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Kipp; Councilm en Albertson and Demarest; Justice. Tuthill. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby is in- structed to communicate with the Southold Town Planning Boqrd and request them when they prepare a report and recommendation to the Town. Board upon a petition- for a change of zone to give more of a detailed report. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justice Tuthill. The hearing upon the pr eliminary budget was opened by the Supervisor at 2:00 Otclmck P.M. he read the call of the hearing and inquired if there were any person present who wished to be heard in favor or against the pre&tminary budget as compiled. Herbert Rosenberg spoke in -favor of the preliminary budget and stated the Board had done a good job. Stanley Corw&n andr,Robert Trubenbach inquired about items in the . . budget. The Supervisor and Supt. of Highways answered their questions satisfactorily. - No person present spoke against the preliminary budget as compiled. . The hearing. was duly closed at 2:35- P.M. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Albertson; WHEREAS,) The Town Board of the Town of Southold, N.Y. has met at the time and place specified in. the notice of public hearing on the pre- liminary budget and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon; now therefore, be it RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold does hereby . adopt such preliminary budget as originally compiled, as the annuAl budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st day- of January, 1959, and that such budget as .so adopted be entered 'in de tail ,in the minutes of. the proceedings of this Town Board, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall prepare and certify, in duplicate, copies of said annual budget as adopted ' by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, together with the estimates, if any, adopted pursuant to Section 202-a , subd. 2, of the Town Law, and deliver one copy thereof 'to the Superv&sor of this Town to be presented by him to the Board of Supervisors of the County of.
