The meeting ,was. called to order at 14.30. P.M. .with'.the following present: Supervisor- . Klipp Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards; Superintendent of ffighways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Booth, The Board sat at once as a Committee on Audit to examine claims . . against the Town concluding. the audit work at 2:00 P.M. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Edwards: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of September 249 and the meeting of October 1st be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, : Clark .and Edwards. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clarks RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, October '28, 1958, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; . Jus.tices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards: . Moved by Justice -Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson: WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the Southold Town Board of Appeals . that a fee of $15.009 paid by Otto Lindermayer' Hortons Point' South- old, New "Yorks' on Appeal #103 dated September 19, 19589 be returned, Mr. Lindermayer having withdrawn his application, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be, and hereby is, directed to return the above mentioned fee. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. At 2 o'clock P.M. in accordance with .a notice published according to law, bids were opened for proposals to furnish to the Town of Southold new Tax Accounting Machines and Equipment. Only one bid was submitted which was by the Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Cpuncilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and hereby is directed to enter into a contract with the Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation for the purchase of one new Model. 9193 Tax Accounting Addressograph- Machine, One new model 948 Addressograph. Front Feed Electric proof- ing machine, one new model 7100 Electric Addressograph Key Punch, Ten Thousand new GG-27-2-211A Addressograph Electric Cote Punched Frames, Ten Thousand new GG-27-2-310 Addressograph Alloy Sensing Plates, one new RD-21 Addressograph Cabinet on Roller Base, One new RD-49 Addressograph cabinet on Roller Base, all machines fully equipped and supplies deliveredand installed in the Town Clerk Office for a total price of $179993.40 with trade-in . allowance on old machine and equipment of $222.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. At 2 o'clock P.M. in accordance with a notice published according to law, bids were opened for proposals to furnish to the Town of South- old 329500 gallons of special grade gasoline for use by Southold Town Police and Southold Town Highway Department. Only one bid was submitted which was by the Socony Mobil Oil Company. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and hereby is directed to enter into a contract with the Socony Mobile Oil Company for the pprchase of 329500 gallons of special grade gasoline at a price of .1446 cents per gallon for use by Southold Town Police and Southold Town Highway Department or as much thereof as may be required during the period from November 1, 1958 to March 31, 1959. Only one bid was submitted which was. by Paul's Servicenter. The price submitted was $27.90 per tire. The matter was discussed by the Town Board and they came to a decision to reject the bid. Moved by- Councilman Albertson; .seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the bid which was submitted by Paul's Servicenter for sixty-five nylon tubeless automobile tires for Southold Town Police cars be and hereby is rejected. Vote of,.Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark 'and Edwards. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District that the Southold Town Board enter into a lease with the Department of ,the U. S. Army for a certain parcel of land fronting on Silver Eel Cove, approximately 425'xl25' , to gether with buildings #50 and T397 located at Fort H.G.Wright, Fishers Island, New York, and including the non-exclusive use of certain access roads, as shown in red on Exhibit "A", which is a map showing Silver Eel Cove and vicinity, attached to the lease and made a part thereof, in the amount of $1.00 for a period beginning. October 1, 1958, and ending September 30, 1959, payable in advance to the- Treasurer of the United States and forwarded by a licensee to the District Engineer, U.S. Army Engineer District, New YorkslCorps of Engineers, Ill East 16th Street, New .York 39 New York, Now, Therefore, B6 It RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, be and he hereby is direct- ed to .approve and sign the above mentioned lease. Klipp be and he hereby is auth- orized to advertise for proposals to furnish to - the Town of South- old automobilestiees for use on Southold Town Police Cars. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $5,988.52; Lighting District Bills for August and September in the amount of $39413.35; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $79458.35s be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
