The Annual Fishers Island Meeting of the Southold Town Board was held
on Tuesday, .August- l9, 1958. The meeting was called' to order by the
Supervisor ,at :1:30 P.M. with -the following present: Supervisor Klipp;
Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark & Edwards;
Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town
Clerk Booth. Also officials of the State, County and Town .and a delegat-
ion of Fishers Island residents.
,Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Councilman Albertson:
RESOLVED: That reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dis-
pensed with.
Vote of Town.Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Edwards:
'WHEREAS, a- petition was received from Eugene Puskarz relative to change
pf zone,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be anc he hereby is directed to transmit this application to
the Planning. Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivihsion C of
Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold,
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.
Moved by. Justice Edwards: seconded by Justice. Clark:
WHEREAS, a petition was received from WINNIFRED B.. CLARK relative to
change of zone,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town 61erk of the 'Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to
the Planning Board, in accordance with Section 901 Subdivision C of
Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the own of Southold.
Vote of Town Board:. .Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and
_Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.
Moved by Councilman A lbertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board will be
held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on
Tuesday, September 9th, 1958, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board:- Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Edwards.
Supervisor Klipp inquired if there were any problems the Fishers Island
people would like to discuss. The question was asked what procedure was
taken when `the petitions for a change of zone were presented to the
Town Board. The Supervisor explained that the petitions were transmitted
to the Planning Board for its recommendation and report, then returned
to the Town Board for a public hearing, thereafter it is approved or
disapproved by the Town Board.
Jack Gada expressed his appreciation for the excellent work the mosquito
extermination commission had done on Fishers Island.
Mr.C. T. Williamson, of the Mosquito Commission, explained what had been
done to control the insects.
