The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P:M. with the following presents Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker' and Town Clerk Booth® The Board sat at once as a committee on .Audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 2:00 o 'clock P.M. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the minutes of June 10 and June 17, be and hereby are duly duly approved as read. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Co-, ncilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, July 229 1958, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. The public hearing on ' the application of WILLIAM P. and ANNA BINGLE for permission to establish a Tourist Court . at East Marion was opened by Supervisor Klipp at 2:30 P.M, . He read the call of the hearing and then called upon any person present who wished to speak either in favor or against' the application for a tourist court on the aforesaid names . There was no response against the application. Lawyer Frank McMann, representing Mr® & Mrs . Bingle , spoke in .favor of the application. The minutes of this hearing were recorded by George T. Lederle, Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS , an application was made to the Southold Town Board under date . .Of June 109 19589 by WILLIA M P. and .ANNA BINGLE for permissi on' to establish a Tourist Coutt on their property in East Marion, N.Y. and WHEREAS , it is required by the Southold Town Ordinance providing for the regulation-.of tourist camps , house trailers camps , house trailers or similar establishments , that a public hearing be held on the matter , and WHEREAS , a public heating was held at the Supervisor 's office in Green- port on Tuesday, July 8, 1958, at 2:30 P.M. and all persons attending such public hearing given ample opportunity to speak in favor of or in opposition to , the hearing was duly itlosed at 2:45 P.M. ) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board does hereby grant permission to WILLIAM P. and ANNA BINGLE to establish and operate a tourist court on the above mentioned site® Vote of Town -Board: .Ayes-Supervisor, Klipp; Councilmen .Albertson and Demarest ; Justices Tuthill and Clark. At 2:30 P.M. in accordance with a notice published according to l-w, bids were opened for proposals to paint the Town Clerk Building and the build- i rig s at the Southold Town Beach. Smith & Sons , Inc. to paint the exterior of the Town Clerk Office and the Town Beach Buildings in accordance with specifications is the lowest proposal for said work, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Klipp be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract with Geo. W, Smith & Sons , Inc. for 'paint- ing the exterior of the Town Clerk Building and the exterior of the build- ings at the Southold Town Beach, and be it further RESOLVED: That the painting of the buildings at the Southold Town Breach be delayed until after Labor Day, 1958, Vote of T own Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; �'ouncilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman Ea Klipp be and he hereby is authorized and directed to apply to the New York State Youth Commission for a re- newal of the Recreation Preject for the Town of Southol�. Dawson of New Suffolk, be and hereby is appointed , subject to the written approval of the D istr. ict Superintendent of Schools , Attendance Supervisor of all schools throughout the Town bxcept such schools as are otherwise provided for by Section 3213 of the Education Law, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the compensation of such Attendance Supervisor be fixed at $1200.00 per year, payable in regular monthly installments , he -to pay his own expenses , and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is instructed to notify Frank S . Dawson and' the District Superintendent of Schools of this appointment . Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves of the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on engaging the services of tti_n a combination porter and automobile parking attendent for the Fishers Island Ferry District pier located at the foot of State Street , New London, Conn® for a period from June 12, 1958 throughSeptember 1958, at a. compensation of $250,00 per month, payable monthly, Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justice5 'ruthill and Clarks Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest: 1%THEREAS , _a petition was heretofore filed with the Town Board of the Town of `'outhold by W. HARRY LISTER requesting a change , modification and amendment of the Building Zone Ordinance including the Building Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing from ".A" Res , & Agric, Dist- rict to "M" Multiple Residence District the property described in said petition, and WHEREAS said petition was duly referred to the Planning Board for its investigation, recommendation and report , and its report having .been filed with the Town Board, and thereafter, a public hearing in relation to slid petition having been held by the Town Board on the 17th day of June , 1958, and due deliberation having been had thereon NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the relief demanded in said petition be and it hereby is granted. Moved by Justice Tutill; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he. hereby is directed to r quest the Long Island Lighting Company to remove two existing lights at the War Memorial , neayr Wickham Avenue in the Mattituck No. I District and install two (2) 100 cp lights on metal standards and supplied through underground cable. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Comoanyto install two (2) additional 100 cp aerial street lights in the Southold Lighting District , said lights to be placed on poles #1 and #5 on Locust Lane in Southold, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: .Ayes--Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Geogge RAYNOR of Mattituck appeared before the Board complaining about the noise created by the motor when loading tanks at the Island Asphalt Company's dock at Mattituck, also the noise and dust caused by the trucks of the Sand and Gravel Company. The Board stated they would take the matter up with the companys and see if the noise could be modified. William Y. Terry, Jr. and wife and Donald .A . McNeill appeared before the Board stating that there was no public bathing beach in. Orient and requested the Board to approve the v vi' ibility of a publics bathing beach on the property of Stephensons Beach Inc. at East Marion. The Board stated that they would take the matter up with the property owners . Adjournment was at 5:15 P.M. Ralph P. By changing from "At1 Residential and AUricultural District to "M" Multiple REsidence District the following described property;- .ALL that certain plot, piece or"parcel of land , situate , lying and being in the Town of outhol.d, Suffolk County, New York, at Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, bounded and described as follows: Commencing at a monument set at the intersection of the southerly line of West Road and the westerly line of lands now or formerly if J. R. Nagle , and running thence south 26 degrees 13 minutes 20 secnnds east along .said land now or formerly of Nagle 410 feet , more or less , to Peconic Bay; running thence southerly and southweste -ly along the shores of Peconic Bay to Wickham Creek (said course indicated by a tie line running 96uth 32 degrees 35 minutes west 106.13 feet) ; running thence northwesterly along the shores of Wickham Creek to the southerly line of West Road (said course indicated by a tie line running north 60 degrees 17 minutes west -575.18 feet) ; running thence north 65 degrees 22 minutes 40 seconds. east along the southerly line of West Road, 430 feet, more or less , to the monument set at the point or place of beginning.
