The inspection covered the interior framing for the alterations to an existing residential structure. The areas inspected included first floor interior partition walls and openings. The inspection results are: Items inspected included lumber type/grade, lumber size, dimensional spacing, framing connections, header sizes, bearing, continuity strapping and integration with the concrete foundation. The framing work was done according to approved plans and in compliance with the applicable sections of the IRC, NYS and Southold Town Building Codes. Result— Based upon inspection of this project and to the best of my knowledge, belief and professional judgment, construction as installed complies with the plans and applicable codes of the IRC, NYS and Southold Town Building Codes. The inspection covered all rated wall and ceiling assemblies where penetrations or joints occur between dissimilar materials. The observed work was found to be installed in accordance with the firestopping requirements of the 2020 Residential Code of New York State (RCNYS) and the 2020 Building Code of New York State (BCNYS), specifically Sections R302.11 and R302.12, as well as Section 714 of the BCNYS relating to fire-resistant joint systems and penetration firestopping. All materials used were fire-rated sealants listed for the intended assembly type and installed per the manufacturer's tested assembly details. The methods and materials observed in the field were consistent with the design intent and construction detail shown on Detail 3 on Page A-1 of the approved submission drawings, which outlines the required joint treatment and fire caulking assembly at wall and ceiling penetrations. Result: Based on my inspection, the fire caulking installation performed by Robert Sal Construction Corp was found to be compliant with the applicable sections of the NYS Building and Residential Codes and consistent with the submitted design details.
