The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposal is CONSISTENT with the LWRP as follows: Policy 10.5 B. 3. Maintain existing and, where necessary for water dependent uses, construct new shoreline stabilization and engineering structures such as piers, wharves, jetties and bulkheads. The project is consistent with overall Policy 10 which is to protect Southold's water- dependent uses, and the sub-policy listed above. This project is to remove and replace a failing bulkhead &jetty that protects active marina uses. Consider reducing the length of the proposed 100' boardwalk on the bulkhead. It should be as short as practical, and should not extend into Flood Zone V, where it would be more likely to be destroyed by wave action in a storm. See flood map below. AE Flood Zone v 1 • . .AEI . f Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
