NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission determines that the proposed improvements that include replacing windows with the installation of Anderson 400 Series Windows and replacing asphalt roof shingles with Architectural Timberline HDZ Asphalt Roof Shingles in Charcoal color, depicted and described in the Architectural Plans; Sheet A-101,last revised February 17,2026; and Sheet A-102, last revised February 27, 2026, prepared by Arthur Richard Rast, Registered Architect, meet the criteria for approval under Section 170-8 (A) of the Southold Town Code; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Commission approves the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness, subject to approvals by all.involved agencies; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that any deviation from the approved plans referenced above may require further review from the Commission. The plans say shingle color and style TBD- I think we want to know the specifications of the proposed roofing. From the plans, it looks like they are also proposing to build a second floor addition above the side wing of the house. The addition isn't mentioned in this HPC application and we are currently only being asked to approve new shingles and windows. Will they schedule a work session with the HPC to review the addition which will be very visible from the road? Thankyou. FYI, the Commission has the option to condition the issuance of a C or A upon receipt of an updated survey, but I'm told that the Building Dept. will not require the updated survey before issuing the Building Permit for replacement of windows. In speaking with the Architect earlier today, he informed me that the owner may apply, at a later date, for a dormer to be built on the rear of the house, and that he is working on those plans.
