SOUTHOLD TOWN ZONING UPDATE
Zoning Update Advisory Committee
Meeting Minutes
June 27, 2025, 1-2:00pm
Attending: Patricia Kirkpatrick, Leslie Weisman, Bruce Nelligan, Alvin Schein,
Heather Lanza; Megan Hood, and members of the public
A. Zoning Update Advisory Subcommittee Progress
1. General consensus- more time needed to complete the reviews
2. Design Standards subcommittee:
o Residential reviewed-working on graphic analysis of Hamlet Residential
and Residential-40 zone to show implications of skyplane, setbacks and
ADU potential. Also created a single bulk schedule- recommending that
be done in the code to make it more efficient to review and read.
o Next reviewing the non-residential standards
o Graphic analysis of
3. Definitions subcommittee:
o Work to review the definitions section begun but need more time
4. Housing subcommittee:
o Work being done to identify revisions needed
B. Generally:
1. The committee is marking up a shared pdf of the code
2. Maps: we'll need a session or two to look at the maps for recommendations
-dates to be determined.
3. End product from this committee:
o Report with recommendations for revisions to the code and map, and a
marked up version of the code and maps, and then a public work session
for the committee to present the highlights of their report and
recommendations.
