Regular Meeting Minutes
TOWN HALL ANNEX CONFERENCE ROOM
Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Attendees: Commissioner Mammina(Chairperson),Commissioner Surchin,Commissioner Wexler,
Commissioner de Conciliis, Commissioner Ketcham and Commissioner Sadar-Afkhami.
Also Present: Kim Fuentes, Coordinator
3:04 P.M. A Motion was offered to open the meeting. Vote of the Commission: Ayes: Commissioners
Mammina, Surchin, Wexler,de Conciliis,Ketcham and Sadar-Afkhami. (This Resolution was duly adopted 6-

a) The Commission discussed rewarding a Landmark Plaque and Certificate to Claudia Ramone, 130
Village Lane, Orient, owner of a HPC registered property,and agreed that a ceremony can occur once
the applicant's health improves. The Commissioners will reach out to Ms. Ramone, and report.
Furthermore,the Commissioners will request that a local newspaper cover the story and ask Town
Board Members to attend.
b) The Coordinator asked the Commission members if they were satisfied with the completed work of
Alexander Stille, located as 560 King Street, Orient. The Commissioners indicated their satisfaction
and agreed that a Certificate of Occupancy can be issued by the Building Department. The Coordinator
will forward an email to the Building Department affirming the HPC's satisfaction.
c) There was discussion about the National Registry List and how if compares with the Town's HPC
Registry.

Commissioner Mammina, seconded by Commissioner Surchin made a motion to Open the Regular Meeting.
Vote of the Commission: Ayes: Commissioners Mammina, Surchin,Wexler, de Conciliis,Ketcham and Sadar-
Afkhami. (This Resolution was duly adopted 6-0).

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:A Motion was made to approve the prior meeting minutes of July 24,2025
by Commissioner Mammina,seconded by Commissioner de Conciliis. Vote of the Commission: Ayes:
Commissioners Mammina, Surchin, Wexler, de Conciliis,Ketcham and Sadar-Afkhami. (This Resolution was
duly adopted 6-0). (The prior August 1.4,2025 Meeting of the HPC was cancelled)
OLD BUSINESS:
1) Hardcopies of Part 1 of the Commission Handbook was distributed to all members. The Coordinator
forwarded digital copies of the Handbook to members in Word Format. Editing will be done by Members
Surchin,then Mammina and lastly de Conciliis, and all edited versions will be emailed back to the
Coordinator. Commissioner Surchin will continue to complete her edits and add references to the draft as
well.
2) There was further discussion regarding granting acknowledgements/proclamations to owners of historical
properties,and how these acknowledgments should be phrased for properties that are not currently included
in the HPC Registry. Commission Surchin agreed to reach out to the homeowner,Jan Nicholson.

Meeting Adjourned: 3:49 P.M.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Commissioner Mammina,seconded Member Surchin. Vote
of the Commission: Ayes: Commissioners Mammina, Surchin, Wexler,de Conciliis,Ketcham and Sadar-
Afkhami. (This Resolution was duly adopted 6-0).
Next HPC work session and regular meeting,with Zoom access, scheduled for October 23,2025 in the Annex
Building, Second Floor Conference Room at 3:00 PM.
