The Wednesday traffic issues in New Suffolk are still unresolved. Part of the problem

Dan Goodwin said that getting the number of flashing speed limit signs needed
throughout the town would be expensive and might cost as much as $30,000 a year to
maintain.
The speed limit going into the new circle in Greenport has to be changed so that
people slow down when approaching the circle. Confusion which led to a few minor
accidents has been resolved by relocation of cones and curb work. Mary Bess talked about
the potential problems which need to be looked at where Moore’s Lane meets the Main Road.
There are many sources of cars emptying onto the Main Road from parking lots and one or
more stop signs are needed to lessen the risk of accidents.
ACTION ITEMS:
☐ Speed limit changes in various areas of the town will be looked at by Anne and Mary Bess
and they will give us feedback at our next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Incorrect Signage - Mattituck (Daniel Goodwin) - Dan pointed out that there are areas in
Mattituck where intersections have Yield signs rather than Stop signs.
ACTION ITEMS:
☐ Study the issue further and put a list together of recommended changes (Daniel Goodwin).
