My grandfather was raised in the 25975 Old Homestead LLC house with his 6 siblings. His father E.E. Grathwohl, the town blacksmith, built that house. 2. My Uncle Red lived downstairs and I remember someone else living on the property named Ziggy and later someone named Clint that helped my grandfather with the horses. 3. My Uncle Red was moved to the Firemen's Home to live out the rest of his life and my father R. W. Grathwohl continued to rent the property. 4. My father managed the property up until his death in January 2023 at which time I took it over. (My parents created the LLC around 2012 due to the Southold Town Zoning laws because they owned the house next door—my sister and I currently own the LLC). 5. My father always wanted to provide a safe and affordable home to local people; a tradition that I continue to this day. The Grathwohl farm was 3 doors down from my house and as a child I would go over to ride the ponies, especially Paint (the black and white pony) and Uncle Alan would hitch up the horses and take us for rides in the wagon. I spent a lot of time there along with other neighborhood kids. 3. I would cut through the MaCallum's and Grohoski's yards, through the hedge and end up in Uncle Reds yard. 4.
