Dear Mr. Ratsey:
This letter is a follow up to your letter received on September 22, 2025, along with a
photograph. The Board of Trustees reviewed your request to remove the dead tree on
your property within 100' of the wetlands. The tree was reviewed and seen by Trustee
Glenn Goldsmith on September 23, 2025.
The Board of Trustees determined that the dead tree may be removed at this time. No
permit will be required in order to perform this work.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit•from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Dear Southold Town Trustees,
I am writing to respectfully request permission to remove a dead tree, which is within 125 feet of the
wetlands. The tree is no longer living and has become a safety concern, especially as children
frequently play the yard. I am worried that falling limbs, or the tree itself, pose a.risk of injury or
damage.
I understand the importance of protecting the wetlands and their surrounding environment. If
pennitted, I will ensure the removal is done in a responsible and professional manner, in compliance
with all guidelines set by the Town Trustees.

information, photographs., or an onsite inspection.
