Dear Ms. Castagnola:
This letter-is a follow up to your email received on June 28, 2025, along with several
photographs. The Board of Trustees reviewed your request to remove five (5) trees on
your property within 100' of the wetlands. These trees were reviewed and seen by
Trustee Nicholas Krupski on July.3, 2025.
The Board of Trustees determined that the five (5) trees may be removed at this time.
The Board of Trustees would like you to consider planting five (5) native hardwood trees
with a minimum 2"-3" caliper anywhere on your property to help mitigate the loss of
these trees. No permit will be required in order to perform this work.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Yesterday I spoke with you about the procedure for removing trees in Cutchogue. I purchased a home on Stillwater Ave.(3655)
in December.The house is currently undergoing interior renovations and,therefore, not occupied. I feel that some trees
should be removed because they are close to the house and wires.Several trees are encroaching the driveway.The attached
photos show the five trees I'd like to remove---each has a blue band around it.
In April, you provided information about permits and transfers from owner to owner(#9193A and#7206). As an update,
the extension of the deck has been removed. Coastal Plantings will soon be correcting the existing dock and adding a
buffer to complete the requirements. I'll notify you when everything is finishsed.
Thank you for all of your assistance in helping me understand the various rules and regulations in the Town of Southold. I
am very excited about moving in!
