The Board of Trustees reviewed your request to remove three (3) trees on your property within 100' of the wetlands. These trees were reviewed and seen by Trustee Elizabeth Peeples on August 22, 2025. The Board of Trustees determined that the three (3) trees may be removed at this time with the condition that they are cut down to the stump and that the stump and root structure remain on the top of wetland edge. The Board of Trustees would like you to consider planting a 5' vegetated non-turf buffer with native, salt tolerant plants from the top of bank. No permit will be required in order to perform this work. Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office. This is not a determination from any other agency. If you have any questions, please call our office at (631) 765-1892. Sincerely, Glenn Goldsm h, President Board of Trustees Hobson, Thomas From: Peeples, Elizabeth Sent: Friday, August 22, 2025 2:22 PM To: Hobson,Thomas Subject: 600 Goose Creek Trees Hi Tom, In walking the properties on Goose Creek Lane, Mr.Taggart showed me 3 trees in the right of way owned by Susan Lee who lives at 805 Goose Creek. This request came in an email to Liz Cantrell on March 11, 2024. My name is Susan Lee and I am the owner of a home on Goose Creek Lane which includes a Right of Way between 580 and 700 Goose Creek Lane. I have three invasive Ailanthus trees in a cluster which have reached a towering height and are at the risk of falling and damaging my property, as well as those of my two neighbors on each side of me. These Ailanthus trees are notoriously shallow rooted and often come down, especially, when they reach the height they are now. Over the past two winters, two Ailanthus trees have fallen down and damaged my neighbors properties. This past year, one fell on the Guido household and damaged their fence and in the prior winter, one fell on the Taggart household and landed in their pool and damaged their fence as well.John Taggart on the west side and Anthony Guido on the east side have requested that I have these trees taken down. I believe John Taggert also contacted you. I would like to remove these trees before they cause more damage to my neighbor's properties. FYI, I understand that Mr.Taggart has made a request to remove a dying tree on his property. I understand that Elizabeth Peoples is still responsible for the approval requests in the Goose Creek Lane area. Mr. Taggart has informed me that he would be happy to meet with her and discuss the requests at her convenience. My contact information is at the bottom of this email. Pictures of the trees are attached. I had also sent a request 3/12/2024 after the first time a tree fell down but did not hear a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
