On motion.-,of'-.:Councilman.-Rich; seconded by -Councilman Homan; 'it: was RESOLVED that Supervisor' Albert M: .Martocchia be and hereby is authorized, on behalf of .the: Town Board of the Town of Southold, to sign a lease agreement with Barbara F.ierer for. her rental of the Southold,-Town Beach refreshment stand a6d other facilities at the Southold -Town Beach adjacent to Long Island Sound at- Arshamomaque. for the months of June,. July, �August, "- and September 1977: at a . sum of $500.00,- $250.00 of which. is payable. on the first day of July, 1977 and- $250.00 payable on the first day of August 197.7. - . Long Island are unique and fragile- in quantity and its quality is becoming increasingly contaminated-- . and _ WHEREAS, .the. Amendments to the, Federal Water Pollution Control Act - of 1972 provide for Federal Assisstance to conduct studies of the protection of the water resources-, and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold is vitally concerned for the protection of the quality and quantity of the groundwater resource, and . WHEREAS the Town of . Southold, after thorough consideration of the MAY,.2 4 1977 24.1 various aspects of the problem and study of available data, has hereby determined that the construction of certain works, required for the treatment of sewage, generally described as 201 Facilities Plan for Wastewater Facilities in the Town of Southold,' and WHEREAS, under Public Law 92-500, the United States of America has authorized the making of grants to aid in financing the cost of construction of necessary treatment works to prevent the discharge of untreated or inadequately treated sewage or other waste into any waters'' and' for the purpose of reports; .plans, and specifications in connectiontherewith, and y WHEREAS, the Town of Southold has examined and duly considered Public Law 92-500 and the Town of South.old''deems it to be in the public interest and to the public benefit to file -an application under this Act and to authorize other action in connection therewith, NOW, THEREFORE,, BE,-IT -RESOLVED BY the Town Board �of Southold, in conjunction with the Village of Greenport, herewith authorizes, the filing-';( f an application in the form. required by th-e, United States and in conformity with Public Law- 92-500 is hereby 'authorized- including all understandings and `assurarices contained in' said application, and BE IT FURTHER- RESOLVED THAT Supervisor Albert -Martocchia ' is .'directed and authorized as the official representative of ' the applicaht ' to act in connection -with' the application -and -to"provide.-such- additional information as may be required, •and "' BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that three (3) certified copies of this Resolution be prepared and sent to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Albany, New York, together with the Federal application, 'and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution take effect immediately, and BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that 30 percent of unfunded project costs will be paid by the Village of. I The Board' 'of- Appeals will be invited to the June- 7th meeting to discuss information they have 'avai lab 14'.on- self-service gasoline, stations -with the Town Board to determine '-if- changes sh1ould' be -made in the zoning regulations. - 3�. supervisor Martocchia has asked Vincent Qua troche' to 'design a logo of the town seal to be• placed. on the front of 'the dais. Mr. Quatroche"'has `submitted several samples and the Board has chose the blue;'�whJ_te,_ `'and,, yellow combinat�ion.'' Supervisor Martocchia has also asked"Mr.- Quatro_che to submit 'a proposal for a mural on the wall behind the-dais containing a' map of the 'Town.---Mr. Hickey asked-what happened to``the plaque Councilman Homan has 'designed and carved in* Etgland?--- Supervisor-Martocchia stated 'it is being prepared" to" be placed 'in the lobby 4. The Town of Southold is considering- buying a piece 'of property near Goose-* Cre-ek- adjacent to property presently owned-, by the Town as a''public-`beach. The Town follows the New York State- Building Code. . 6. The Town Board will . discuss this at length at the rdorming meeting of June -7th, to decide what position they will. ttake on- it. _ . . 9. The Environmental Quality Review Law is presently up in the.:air on the -state level, - arid despite the -.fact a hearing .was held :on, a proposed local law for- the Town of Southold on this matter, the Board will -.wait to make a decision until .the -state position -is resoltred. 10.. The .Bank of New ,York .would .like to release $195, 0,00.'00 . East Hampton UFSD from the. Town of Southold Escrow Account #951550. .'
