HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-06/17/1958 WHEREAS . it was the opinion of the Board that some diciplinary action should be taken in order to deter any future occurances of this nature , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the said Henry F. Santacroce be and he hereby is assigned to the following duty for the next four weeks: One week on foot patrol; one week in a police car with another police officer operating the car; a further week' s duty as a foot patrolman; and a further week's duty in a police car with another police officer operating the car, after which he hhall be returned to his regular duties . The Chief of Police shall determine the areas to which He.nry F. Santacroce shall be assigned is foot patrolman within the Town. A public hearing was held by the Oouthold Town Board at Village Hall in Greenport on Tuesday, June 17, 1958, with the following present: Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Booth. This hearing was on the proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold by changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District on a parcel of land situate in ,Southold and a parcel of land situate in Cutchogue , by changing from "A" Residentail and Agric. District to "M" Multiple Residence District on a parcel of land situate at Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, and from "A" Residential and Agric. Dist. to "C" Industrial District on a parcel of land situate at Peconic. Councilman Albertson opened the hearing at 7:30 P.M. . Town Attorney Tasker read the call of the hearing: Councilman Albertson called upon any person present who wished to speak either for .or against the pro- posal to amend the building zone ordinance on the aforesaid parcels of land. The hearing was duly closed at 9:00 P.M. The minutes of this hearing were recorded by George T. Lederle . The Board adjourned to the Supervisor 's Office to hold a Town Board Meeting. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded. by Councilman Demarest: WHEREAS , the Town Board, by resolution upon. its own motion on May 28, 1958, has proposed a change , modification and 'amendmert of the Build- ing Zone Ordinance including the Building Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District the property described in said resolution, and WHEREAS , said resolution was duly regerred to the Planning Board for its investigation, recommendation and report, and its report having been filed with the Town Board, and thereafter, a public hearing in relation to said resolution having been duly held by the Town Board on the 17th day of June . 1958, and due deliberation ahving been had thereon, NO11T THTREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the change proposed in said res- olution be and it hereby is adopted. ALL THAT CERTAIN tract or parcel of land , situate , lying and being at Cutchogue , in the Town of ''outhold, County of Suffolk and State of New York, bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING at the intersection of the northerly line of Main Road with the westerly line of Alvah 's Lane and running thence westerly along said northerly line of Main Road about 765 feet to land of Josephine Lenceski; thence northerly along said land of Josephine Leneeski 200 feet more or less ; thence easterly on a line para11&1 to and at all points 200 feet northerly from said northerly line of Main Road about 740 feet to the westerly line of said Alvah's Lane; thence southerly along said westerly line of Alvah's Lane 200 feet or more to the point of beginning. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-t`., = Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. -4 Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman .Albertson: WHEREAS , the Town Board, by resolution upon its own motion on May 28, 1958, has proposed a change , modification and amendment of the Building Zone Ordinance including the Building Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B", Business District the property described in said resolution, and WHEREAS , said resolution was duly referred to the Planning Board for its investigation, recommendation and report, and its report having been filed with the Town Board, and thereafter , a public hearing in. relation .to. saia resolution having been duly held by the Town Board on the 17th day of June , 1958, and due deliberation having been had thereon NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the change proposed in said resolution be and it hereby is adopted. .ALL that certain tract or parcel of land situate , lying and being at Peconic, in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York, bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING at the point on the northerly line of Main Road at the easterly line of a 66 foot private road west of Williams property and about 1500 feet westerly from South Harbor Lane and running northerly along the easterly line of said private road 200 feet more of less; thence easterly and aprallel to and at all points 200 feet northerly from said northerly line of Main Road, a distance of about 700 feet to land of .Adam Cierach; thence southerly along said land .of .Adam Cierach 200 feet more or less to said northerly line of Main Road; thence westerly along said northerly line of Main Road about 715 feet to the point of beginning. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: WHEREAS, a petition was heretofore filed with the Town Board of the Town of Southold by Henry J. Smith requesting a change , modification and amend- ment of the Building Zone Ordinance including the Building Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing from ".A" Residential & Agric. District to "C" Industrial District the property described in said petition, and WHEREAS , said petition was duly referred to the Planning Board for its investigation, recommendation and report, and its report having been filed , with the Town' Board, and thereafter, a public hearing in relation to said petition having been duly held by the Town Board on the 17th day of June, 1958, and due deliberation having been had thereon NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the relief demanded in said petition, be , and It hereby is granted. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: WHEREAS , an application was made to the Southold Town Board under date of May 61 1958, by Jonathon T. Overton for the establishment of a trailer court , located on Terry Lane in Southold, and WHEREAS , mt is .required by the Southold Town Ordinance providing for the regulation of tourists camps , house trailer camps , house trailers or similar establishments, that a public hearing be held on the matter, and WHEREAS , a public hearing was held at Village Hall in Greenport , on .May .28, 1958, and all persons attending such hearing were given ample opportunity to speak in favor or in opposition to. The hearing was duly closed at 9:09 . P.M. and the application was held for further deliberation of the Board . and WHEREAS , all requirements have been complied with in accordance with the ordinance , NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold- does hereby grant permission to Jonathon Overton to establish and operate a trailer court on the above mentioned site . Vote , of Town Board Ayes- ' _.;:. . .-.- _ 'A:' Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. i Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest: ' WHEREAS, an application was made to the Southold Town Board under date of May 20, 19581 by LeRoy and Lorraine Brown for permission to establish a Tourist Court (Camp Cottages) on their property on the north side of the Main Road in East Marion, N.Y. , and WHEREAS , it is required by the Souhold Town Ordinance providing for the regulation of Tourists Camps .. house trailer camps, house trailers or similar establishments , that a public hearing be held;, on the matter, and WHEREAS , a public hearing was held at the Supervisor 's Office in Green- port on Tuesday, June 10, 1958, at 2:30 P.M. and all persons attending such public hearing given ample opportunity to speak in favor of or in opposition to. The hearing was duly closed at 2:45 P.M. and the application. was held for further delibderation of the :Board, NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board does hereby grant permission to LeRoy and Lorraine Brown to establish and operate a Tourist Court (Camp Cottages) on the above mentioned site.
