HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-01/21/1958 4 8 � MEETING OF JANUARR 219 1958. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervios Norman E. Klipp at Greenport , on Tuesday, January 21, 1958. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Council- man.',Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highway Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of January 7, 1958, be and here- by are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Counilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman "lbertson; RESOLVED: That the Highway Account Book of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and hereby is approved by the Town Board. Vote of Town Board: Ayes--Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by "ouncilman .Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, January 28, 1958, at 7:30 P.M. Vote of. Town Board: gyps-Supervisor Klipp; �'ouncilman .Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. - Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson; WHEV,EAS , February 8, 1958 is the 48th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of A merica , which is chartered by the Congress of the United States as a program for all the boys of .America , and WHEREAS , the Boy Scouts of America is a great force for training youth in right character and food citizenship, and deterring juvenile delinquency and WHE EAS , the Town Board of Southold Town and each of its members is wholeheartedly behind the program oppered by the Boy Scouts of America , now, therefore, be it RESOLVED: That the Town Board of Southold Town hereby proclaims the week of February 7th to 13th as "Boy Scout Week" in the Town of Southold. Each of the citizens of the Town of Southold is urged not only to support this great program but also to donne time and services in the promotion of this fine organization and of its American principles . Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Supt. of Highways mf the Town of Southold be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase .from the lowest bidder one 1958 Model `R-192-.A International Dump Truck with thin body or equal, One 1951 International Dtmp Truck with body to be taken in trade as part payment on new truck, the total of which shall not exceed $9,900.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Uouncilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson; RESOLVED: That the Supt. of Highways of the Town of `'outhold be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for and purchase from the lowest bidder One i-,odel 721 Good Roads Snow Plow or equal , the total cost of which shall not exceed $1200.00, /Vote of To. n Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Councilman Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to make arrangments with Lawrence Waitz , Veterinary of Southold, to have him dispose of stray dogs . Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS , t petition was received from WILLIAM WELLS for an Open Develope- ment Area under the provisions of Section 280A of the Town Law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdiv. C of Article 1X of the Build- ing Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold , N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp;Councilman "lbertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. 4S8 Moved by Councilman Albertson; secorh ed by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS , a petition was received from Constance Kendrick Overton' relative -to change of zone, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the- Vlanning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdiv. C of Article 1X of the Build- in Zone drdinance of the Town of Southold, N.Y. Vote of Town Board:_ Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. The Supervisor brought up several requests of the Mattittck Civil Defense Unite , including a reque^t to advertise for bids on one rescue truck and the Supervisor was instructed to take the matter up with the County Director of Civil Defense. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS , t petition was received from THE CHESE MANHATTAN BANK, relative to change of zone, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, subdiv. Z of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill' seconded by Justiee Clark: WHEREAS, a petition was received from Perry E. Bendicksen, relative to change of zone, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdiv. 41,.of Article -lX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, N.Y.
