HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-11/26/1957 FETING OF NOVEMBER 26, 1957. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport9 on Tuesday' November 26, 1957. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with -the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman A lbertson; Justices Tuthill' Clark a-Kdx bM74-Y % Superinten- dent of Highways Price; -Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Mr. Vincent Annabel and Mr. Patrick Gorman attended the meeting as representatives of the Democratic Party. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman tlbertson: RESOLVED: That the minutes of November 7th be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board:. Ayes-Supervisor K1ipp; Coucnilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuhill: RESOLVED: That the minutes of Nov. 18 and Nou. 25 be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Kipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. 448 LeRoy G. Edwards , Esq. , Attorney of Mineola , N.Y. appeared before the Board and stated that he represented numerous residents of East Marion in their objection to the issuance of a Trailer Camp Permit upon the application of Florence and Charles Ziegler. Mr. Edwards was accompanied by a large delegation of his clients and he proceeded to state their objection. Mr. & Mrs. Ziegler spoke in favor of her application. Super visor Klipp then asked if anyone else wished to speak either in favor or against the application and there being no further response, he de- clared the matter closed for the further deliberation of the Board and stated that after such deliberation both parties would be notified of the Board 's decision. Mr. Leonard Kaplan appeared before the Board with his Attorney, Mr. Anthony J. Leanza, relative to a proposed change of zoning ordinance so as to permit sale of undersized lots on filed maps . The matter was referred to the Town Attorney for consideration with Mr. Leanza . Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tut-.hill: WHEREAS, a petition was received from Charles A . Cornibert relative to change of zone , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and •he hereby is directed, to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901 subdivision C Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold , Suffolk County, New York. - Vote of Town Board: .A]tes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: WHEREAS, a petition was received from Charles M. King, relative to change of Zone , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of South- old be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Souhold, Suffolk County, New York. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman .Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: WHEREAS, an application was received from Winifred and Ellsworth Grathwohl for 8n open developement area under the provisions of Section 280-A of the Town Law, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Torun Clerk of the Town of South- old be and he ` eby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision- C of Article lx of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Hyatt for an open Developement Area under the provisions of Section 280-A of the Town Law NOW, TH REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of South- old be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901 subdivision C of Article 1X of the Building Ordinance of the Town of Southold, .Suffolk Co. , N.Y. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Bond No. F63836, issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company on behalf of Chester M. Dickerson in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. . Fitzpatrick, in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Klipp, qt Green- port, on Tuesday, December 3 , 1957, at 1: 30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: A yes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for and purchase from the lowest bidder one New F.W,D, Dump Truck, Model 285, or equal, with complete equipment in accordance with specifications . Specifications may be obtained at the office of the supt. of Highways . Also, one Good Roads Model 712 Snow Plow, or Equal, complete with power hydraulic lift and attached to the above mentioned truck, at a total cost not to exceed Thirteen Thousand Dollars. . A 1934 Walters Snow Fighter with plow must be taken in trade as part payment on the New Truck. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson: Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on entering into license contract with the Department of the Army for a certain parcel of land fronting on Silver Eel Cove, approximately 425 feet by 125 ft. , together with Buildings Nos . 50 and T-397 located at Fort H. G. Wright , Fishers Island, New York, a'6a including the none-exclusive use of certain access roads , all ass shown in red on Exhibit A9 which is , a map showing Silver Ee1'Cove and vivinity attached and made part of the contract, for a term of one year beg4nning October 1, 1957, and ending September 30, 1958, at a cost of One Dollar ($1.00) for the above term.
