HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-10/29/1957 437 Meeting of October �9, 1957. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman �® Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, October 29, 1957. The meeting was called to order at, 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor .Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Dmmarest; Superintendent of Highways Price; Town .Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of October 8 be and hereby are duly approved as read® Vote 6f Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by ,justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of October 16 be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Klipp at Greenport, on Thursday, November 7, 1957, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson; RESOLVED: That the resignation of Charles F. VanDuzer as a member of the Planning Board of the Town of Southold, effective as of October 29,. 1957, be accepted by the Town Board, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Town Board does hereby express its grateful appre- ciation to Mr. VanDazer for the excellent work performed by him as a member of the Planning Board of the Town of Southold. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest: RESOLVED: That pursuant to Artical 271 of the Town Law, T. Paul Montgomery of Southold, New York, be and he hereby is appointed a member of the Planning Board of the Town of Southold, until April 30, 1961, to fill the unexpired term of Charles F. VanDuzer® Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest® Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, a petition was received from Susan H. Ter?:y and Raymond W. Terry, Sr® , relative to opening a developement area under the pro- visions of Section 280A of the Town Law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article 1X of .the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York® 1 Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Xlbertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Town Board of Southold approves the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on entering into a contract with E. Billington and Company of 103 Furnace St. , Danielson, Conn. , for bituminous paving, oiled surface and wire rope fencing at the ferry district facility in New London, Conn. , in the amount of $4,190.00. Muir, -George G. Muir and A. B. Rosenberg for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District, certain real property situate dear the Village of Greenport, Town of Southold, New York, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office at Gteenport, on Monday, Nov. 25, 1957, at 7:00 o 'clock P.M. on the proposal of John A . Muir, George G. Muir and A. B. Rosenberg for a change of , zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Coucnilman .Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and' Demarest. An application was received from Charles 0. and Florence A. Ziegler -for a permit to operate a trailer camp, and it was discussed at length and decided to hold it over for further consideration. A communication was received from certain Police requesting an in- crease -in salary. It was laid on the table for further consideration. Adjournment was at 4:30 P.M. Ralph P. Booth Town Clerk
