MEETING OF AUGUST 29, 1957.
A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the office
of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Thursday, Aug. 29,
1957. The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices
Clark and Demarest and Town Clerk Booth.
The purpose of this meeting was to appoint Police Patrolmen
(Constables) for the Town of Southold.
A communication was received from Clarence Goldsmith and Joseph
Rhodes of the Greenport Police Department requesting to be trans-
ferred to the Southold Town Police Forceen'Were read and considered.
A communication was received from James P. Mellas and Donald Miller
for position as Police Patrolman on the Southold Town Police Force.
These were also discussed-:
A communication received from Joseph A. Holahan, requesting a
position -as Radio Operator, was also discussed.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That Robert M. Hulse, Main Street, East Marion, N.Y.
be and hereby is appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) of the
Town of Southold for a Probationary period of six months , follow-
ing the date the appointment becomes effective and be it further
RESOLVED: That Robert M. Hulse will serve in the capacity of Police
Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of Southold at the pleasure of
the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period be
fixed at Fourteen Dollars ($14.00) per day, five days per week,
payable in regular bi-weekly payments , and be it further
RESOLVED: That this probationary period take effect on September
14, 1957.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Koipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson;
RESOLVED: That Harold D. Winters , Main Road, Southold, N.Y. be
and he hereby is appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) of the
Town of Southold for a probationary period of six months , follow-
ing the date the appointment becomes effective and be it further
RESOLVED: That Harold D. Winters will serve in the capacity of
Police Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of Southold at the pleasure
of the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period be
fixed at Fourteen Dollars ($14.00) , :f±xzxi1zyxxpzzx=aJq per day,
five days per week, payable in regular bi-weekly payments , and
be it further
RESOLVED: That this probationary period take effect on Sept. 14,
1957.

RESOLVED: That William P. Boken, 164 Sixth Street Greenport, N.Y.
be and he hereby is appointed Police P atrolman (6onstable) of the
Town of Southold for a Probationary period of six months, follow-
ing the date that the Appointment becomes effective , and be it
further
RESOLVED: That William P. BoRen will serve in the capacity of Police
Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of, Southold at the pleasure of
the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period
be fixed at Fourteen Dollars ($14.00) per day, five days per week,
payable in regular bi-weekly payments , and be it further
RESOLVED: That this probationary period take effect on Sept. 14,
1957.

RESOLVED: That Robert E. Walden, 190 Sterling St. , Greenport, N.Y. ,
be and he hereby is appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) of the
Town of Southold for a Probationary period of six months , following
the date the appointment becomes effective, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Robert E. Walden will serve in the capacity of Police
Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of Southold at the pleasure of the
Town Board and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period be
fixed at Fourteen Dollars ($14.00) per day, five days per week, pay-
able in regular bi-weekly payments , and be it further
RESOLVED: That the probationary period take effect on September
14, 1957.

RESOLVED: That Barney P. Harris , Youngs Avenue, Mattituck, N.Y. be x3d
and he hereby is appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) of the Town
of Southold for a probationary period of six months , following the
date the appointment becomes effective, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Barney P./ Harris will serve in the capacity of Police
Patrolman (Constable) of the ±km Town of Southold at the pleasure of-
the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period be
fixed at $16.62 per day, five days per week, payable in regular bi-
weekly payments and be it further
RESOLVED: That the probationary period take effect on September 14,
1957.
Vote of Town Board? Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Clark and Demarest .
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That effective as of September 14, 1957, the rate of pay
of Walter Bondarchuk and Elmer Quarty be increased from $13.30 to $16.00
per day, five days per week.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Clark and Demarest.
Adjournment was at 9:00 P.M.

WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING
We, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice
of the time , place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to
be held at the Supervisor's Office at Greenport, New York, in the Tovft
of Southold, on Thursday, August 29, 1957, and do hereby consent that
the same be held on said date for the transaction of any business
which may properly come before said meeting.
